People who adjudge these decisions are never impartial, they look to find a reason to disallow or let the goal stand based on whatever the whim takes them.
Good post, there are more “clear and obvious” fouls committed at every corner or free kick into the box in pro football than that one. How many of those now saying it was a clear foul were saying that five seconds after the incident? I thought it looked weak on Raya’s part, but I didn’t see a foul at the time - it was only after a couple of replays that I saw the foul.

I’ve just seen it again and if the ref was looking to give West Ham a penalty, he could have penalised Trossard. Rice or Gabriel and they could have had few complaints - Arsenal got lucky because it was their keeper who was fouled and, as they’ve always been, they’re a protected species.

Haven’t most people who’ve got a preference for something got a reason? With my upbringing why would I have leanings toward Rangers or Hearts? Perhaps you prefer ‘fans’ who pick a club without an earthly reason. Used to bring the Celtic View, along with the weekly newsletter, home from Mass every Sunday for years, hard not to have a bit of preference for them. No hate from me though, a dear friend who posts on here is Rangers through & through, never stopped going abroad and away games together. It’s football and nearly everyone has preferences for one team or another totally unrelated to CCFC.

The solution is clearly a requirement for all players to wear a body sensor suit that records the impact force of all physical contact between players.

Is it time to start checking bank accounts?

            Re: Today’s games.

Based on the standard of how goalkeepers are treated, that's an obvious foul, has been for at least 25-30 years and was obvious in real time. In my humble opinion.

I still have yet to see anyone put a realistic proposal in how to fix corners that wouldn't also result in the game becoming totally unwatchable and a farce. The "correct" way to do it is to penalize the first player who fouls another player on every single corner. If anyone has a proposal that doesn't end up in 10 VAR checks each taking 4-5 minutes every single game, would love to hear it.

The goalkeepers in the Boreham Wood / Rochdale game had odd names, Curd and Whatmuff.

Do away with physical corners and award a goal for every 3 technical corners?

My point is, i’d imagine most fans of Welsh and English clubs, myself included, don’t really give a shit about Scottish football, but would all like to see Hearts, or any other smaller club, break the old firm strangle hold, just for the fun of it. Just like it was a breath of fresh air to see Leicester get one over on all the mega rich premier league clubs. You, on the other hand appear to want Celtic to win, just because they are a catholic club.
Ps, Jimmys more of a City fan than a Rangers fan nowadays.

Pointless continuing engaging with you on this subject. You’re obviously anti Catholic even though you say religion & politics shouldn’t come into sport. Celtic’s greatest ever manager was a non Catholic, it doesn’t matter to the club. Yes, I do want Celtic to win every season because I prefer them to any other Scottish club, nothing wrong with that.

Do var not take into account the fact that Trossard was fouling the player adjudged to have fouled Raya?

Looked weak from Raya for me

Even more simple to only allow for example 4 defenders and 4 attackers in the penalty area at corners or free kicks. Any shenanigans are almost immediately obvious
