Next match: Pre-season. Saturday, July 11th | FC Midtjylland (H) @ Cardiff City Stadium, 12:30pm -
All pre-season fixtures
Murphy. One of our own. Goal. 4 mins on the pitch. Not sure what it matters against sick poor opposition tbh. We SHOULD be scoring freely in a game like this.
Sometimes they’re crap and will never make it no matter how many chances we give.
That’s my point
Just getting a chance would be nice nevermind many chances.
Mick has been waxing lyrical about Sam Bowen pre season, tonight ideal opportunity to give him his professional debut but signs a 31 year old for a month before kick off and so Bowen doesn’t start. Couldn’t even chuck him on for 10 minutes when we were 3-1 up. Talk about building the kid up to knock him down.

You’re quite right of course.
This shambolic crap tonight was just NOT good enough and, by the way in case anyone doubted me shows exactly why I warned of the danger of 5-0 defeats and a catastrophic slide.
I don’t need to explore this bollocks too much except to say that we should have run in five or six goals and CERTAINLY not conceded 2 goals with a first team defence against near amateurs.
The only positive out of this abortion is that we know EXACTLY which goalkeeper to unload.
It’s a MASSIVE honour to pull on that blue jersey and Cardiff City is NOT some third rate shithole club so maybe MM must learn that any old bunch of rag tag people who MIGHT be alright on the night is NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Jeez.. Chill baby! I thought you were a pensioner living in East Anglia.. getting very worked up about a milk cup match is probs not good at your age, learn to relax otherwise you won't survive the season.
- I wanted us to see which of the first team could play as our under 23's do so picking 2 CB's who are below average-to-average on the ball wasn't a great start.
- I recognise that kids playing next to a senior player probably gives them the best chance of productive experience. I can semi excuse Vaulks in the side as it's bringing Wintle through and 3 senior CB's to help Sang and Davies come in.
- It does seem that Mick finds it easiest to bring in young players at full-back and doesn't yet have full confidence in doing it anywhere else on the pitch. CM seems to be low down on list but goodness I hope we have a plan for Bowen (rushing him into a bad opportunity isn't it) rather than Mick just being risk-averse in this area.
- While we want clear run way for youth to make it, if we discount Tomlin and Murphy as players who sadly cannot be relied on ( brilliant but inconsistent) then our senior players in attacking midfield are Mark Harris in age and Giles in league appearances. If we can carry a senior player in the squad it's as an AM and one on low wages isn't a heavy load to carry. We probably shouldn't forget that Mick went from the devil before his short-term contract was announced to a hero with the initial winning run so we tend to overreact a bit.
- A win gives us the opportunity to give more minutes to youth in the next round while also breeding confidence within the club. Still, I'm not sad I missed it.
