Yes, I’m watching it, a record score for Manchester, but I wouldn’t rule out the side in purple (only know the Welsh Fire by name) chasing them down on this pitch.

Any news of Glamorgan incomings ahead of next season? Other counties seem to be making a few.

On top of Michael Hogan, the following are out of contract by all accounts: Callum Taylor; Kiran Carlson; Billy Root; Joe Cooke; Lukas Carey; Ruaidhri Smith; Jamie McIlroy; Timm van der Gugten; James Weighell; Andy Gorvin; Tegid Phillips.

Fair to assume that at least 4 of those will be leaving.

I know Ingram is hoping for a contract, but can't help but feel that a second overseas seamer to join Neser is the right thing to do.

I'm off to watch the fire today, will get down early for the women's game. Can anyone suggest the best place to park? It's been years since I've been down and knowing my luck the parking at the ground will be full when I arrive!
        Thanks

When I lived in Cardiff, I gave up on driving to the ground and just caught the bus. There is parking in the streets off Cathedral Road, but it tends to be a case of getting lucky if you’re around when someone pulls away. I’d say you’re best off trying to use the small car park in Llandaff Fields just up by the Halfway or using one of the ones in town.

Ingram deserves a contract on this season’s form, but I’d be loathe to keep him on if it comes with a demand that he can jet off to play in another part of the world like he’s doing for our last month of the Championship season.

If you’re right about all of those players being out of contract there’s potential for a City like rebuild during the winter, but it’d be cheaper and more realistic to go for a half and half approach. The only ones I’d definitely want to keep in that list are Carlson and Van Der Gugten, but I’d probably offer Root and one or two of Cooke!, McIlroy and Weighella contract.

Australia are touring next year aren’t they, so I don’t think it’s worth going for Labuschagne. Getting Northeast last winter was a bit of a shock which makes me think Glamorgan can look for out of contract domestic players at a higher level than I thought they could - I’d be inclined to look for another seamer domestically and go for an overseas batsman who can bowl a bit of spin.

Shubman Gill, who scored 130 for India this morning, is one of the ones being considered for the remaining County Championship games.

If Glammy win tomorrow and Kent lose to Lancashire then they qualify for the quarter finals, think that’s right?

Sure I’d read the tykes have to lose as well? Could be wrong there. I don’t think our run rate helps either even if this sequence of events does come to pass.

Yes you did and we need to improve our run rate.

Holders Glamorgan miss out on the One-Day Cup quarter-finals despite a record-breaking score for Sam Northeast in their win at Worcester.

Meanwhile, Welsh Fire’s bid to lose every game at men and women’s level this season continues with the women once again looking more competitive than the men, but it’s looking like the Southern Brave are going to beat them. In the men’s game they’re facing last year’s Champions who are having a bad time of it this time around, but I’ve given up hope on “our” mens team in afraid.

Just turned over to BBC2 to see the start of the Fire match.
                        Just 1-3 after 7 deliveries 🙄

They were already struggling and now they seem to have lost about 4 players from their starting 11 in the first game ?

Farcical run out just now, 54-5 at less than a run a ball.

That 1 for 3 in 7 balls was the worst start to a 100 or t20 game ever in England and Wales apparently.

It does say that on the BBC website but if there are quarter finals then surely they only need to finish 4th and pass Kent and Essex ( who have finished their games) - no need to overtake Yorkshire in 3rd as well?
