What age? I dont think the article mentions their age. They have the consent off of their parents anyway.

when working in a Children's summer camp we had a non-binary 11 year old.

And I over heard one staff member complaining how we shouldn't have to change our speech ect for this one child.
and how it was difficult.

the other coach responded 'well I just call them by their name.'

It was so simple, and shut down his entire argument and all the points he tried to raise.

So my question for the teacher would be regardless of your personal opinions, just call the child by their name, not hard.

If that newborn, later on in life, decides they're not what they were assigned at birth, why should anyone else question that decision?

Sex is observed at birth, not assigned. Midwives aren't picking teams.

People can question the subjective, idealist assertion that someone is not the sex they were born if it impinges on their own rights; I'm not sure this was the case with the teacher though, and he hasn't gone about this very well.

Yeah...decades later......I am not Christian for those who have made comments.....I am agnostic. When you are born you either have a penis or you do not...THAT determines gender. S for calling them simply by their NAME - absolutely agree...but it does not seem that is acceptable.

To a point, which is something missing from the trans "debate". For example, there are convicted rapists who have declared themselves trans in women's prison. That is surely wrong? Trans people have a right to be who they want but other people's rights and wishes must be considered too. Unfortunately they tend not to be. As soon as you raise these sort of questions - to enter into a debate - you are labelled a bigot and anti-trans, sometimes with drastic repercussions, such as happened to lesbian feminist Kathleen Stock - hardly a right wing loon - who was hounded out of her post at Sussex Uni for daring to suggest that there are limits to what trans people can demand.

It is a bit of a fad.

There are genuine people out there that suffer who are transitioning or have done. Then you have people who are very confused and want to be non binary and jump on the whole woke bandwagon.

Call yourself whatever, I can go around calling myself King of Wales if I want to, but I'd be laughed at if I expected everyone else to also address me this way.

Except I wouldn't be laughed at, and it would be taken very seriously if I convinced enough people that this is the future and the way of the world.
