How many of our League Two players get in our side? Gunter may come on if we’re winning and need to shore things up in the last few minutes, but we’re going to have to be down to the bare bones through injuries and/or suspension for either of them to feature otherwise. Any remote chance of you telling us the names of the players who could come in for Gunter and Eilliams and transform our squad?

So why not replace them with youngsters to get some experience of tournaments?

We were equally shite when we played them.

A friendly nobody cared about and barely remembers isn't exactly comparable to the World Cup is it? We also weren't 3-0 down at half time and weren't playing our first team

This Iranian team is woeful.

I think I'd rather an invitational cup with the best 36 teams regardless of location.

I think Page may have had a decision to make on Gunter if Norrington-Davies was fit, but he isn't and so it was absolutely appropriate to take Gunter. I can't understand why fans in general don't understand the value of having experienced heads in the makeup of the squad to help the younger players. Quite aside from that, we are not going to win the World Cup and I absolutely support the taking of Jonny Williams and Chris Gunter and letting them have that on their footballing CV. You can be sure of this, if called upon, they will not let us down. Maybe if we keep progressing there will be a time in years to come when it will be necessary to be less sentimental. But we aren't there yet. Until then I trust the judgement of the man who has overseen our first World Cup qualification in 64 years !!
