Given we've got about 30 pros, we're spending a lot more money than we should be.

In the final third, yes, agreed. Defensively we're ok.

The problem here is we are working with men who hardly ever get told they are wrong.

They are almost always convinced that it isn't them. It is playing out here. The fall guy is always the bad manager that they put in place. They conveniently ignore the fact they put them there.

Nobody with any ambition will touch this managerial position with a bargepole. The club would certainly not align with their goals. We are a club running on life support trying to do everything as cheaply as possible.
If you are doing this then the one place you should spend good money is getting a quality manager. Our board won't though.

They continually balls things up again and again but hold themselves above judgment. They then sack the manager and start again.

OK but not great. Who of the 17 signings are top half Champ players? Collins, Robinson and O'Dowda?

Neil Warnock is a bit of a toss pot- That's why people are reluctant.

I think those who don't have a boner for Warnock are probably able to see beyond the hype and swashbuckle.

Certainly been a depressing trend since they opted to give Warnock another shot back before the 19/20 campaign. Albeit you could give them the benefit of the doubt on that decision, sticking with the manager who had galvanised the club and the fans (however this was not my preference at the time).

But they then since went on to Neil Harris, did not come with a strong resume and was recently sacked by Millwall. A decision that really lacked any ambition and always came across as a cheap option.

Then came McCarthy, again a sensible enough decision at the time considering the circumstances, bring in an experienced manager on a short term contract. It almost appeared that someone actually knew what they were doing. But then they decide to offer him a permanent contract before the season was done, there was no need and they removed any other option to explore off the table.

A record 8 defeats on the bounce later and they find themselves in the cycle of rewarding whatever coach is available on the staff to have a go. First Morison, and then Hudson and now Whitehead.

I cannot foresee any decent manager looking to build something at this club joining in the near future. It'll likely just be the usual motley crew who do the managerial merry-go-round who are happy to rock up somewhere and pick up a cheque. Depressing.

Because the good times lasted two years and his bad years were still going long after he left. Why does this keep having to be explained?

                    Re: MARK HUDSON SACKED

This final 3rd thing. !!! We are shit at playing from back to front.

One of the main reasons we are poor in the final 3rd is we cant get the ball there quick enough. By the time we do opposition defences are behind the ball.

As a team we are ok at defending. Its not because of a particularly strong back 4.

We have no playing style. We cant play a passing game and we cant play a long ball game. We can just set up to not concede and somehow nick a goal.

Apart from Micks 5 man centre halves its the worst football ive witnessed for years.

If only Warnock had been sacked the moment we claimed promotion in 2018 I contend we would be in a far better position now.

If that happens, it needs to be until the end of the season and no further, with incentives in his contract for keeping us up and then that's it, job done.

They have six months to get the next appointment right, and not somebody Warnock suggests either...

                            Re: MARK HUDSON SACKED

After today's game I formed the opinion that little was going to change under Hudson and better to change things now than wait any longer. Like most who watch City 'in the flesh' week in week out, I don't think we're that bad a squad, it's just we don't have the right mix of players - something which has probably only become obvious as the weeks roll on. There are few options in attack insomuch as we started today with Harris on the right wing and ended with Davies on the right wing. Defensively we're OK, we can stroke the ball around in midfield OK, but that's it - literally. We've run out of ideas and things aren't going to change with the status quo. Relegation would be a disaster, and could be a league 1 side for years, so the Club has made the right decision, this time, in changing the manager before it's too late. We saw what Morison was able to do when he brought in Hugill etc, so let's hope the new man can do the same.

I know. Wishful thinking more than anything.

I don’t for one second think Dyche would put up with Tans nonsense or Wilder for that matter.
