So untrue, if you have just the odd one or two as extra income then for sure. If it’s your main income and you have 5-10 houses, 25-50 tenants its definitely a proper job. Houses always need maintenance, boilers, kitchen, plumbing, sparky in fir this or that, gas safe, rent smart wales, decorating, clearing drains, setting up tenancies sending tenants the right info or they can claim 3-6 months rent off you, roof leaks, window problems, lost keys etc etc….in the last 3 months I’ve done all of these aswell as running another business.
Its funny, I know people who think it’s nothing until they try, they usually give up and go back to their hassle free 9-5 within a year or two….

The WAG are crying out for HMO’s at the moment which are being run by private sector companies, (which I’m looking at presently) as RSL’s just don’t have the portfolio to address the housing shortage.
Huge issue in cardiff at mo, I used to get 5-10 enquires a day when I put a room up, now it can be up to 80 a day, desperate they are. Loads of older landlords bailed out so much less HMO stock. Heard that banks are buying them up setting up their own agencies with all their extra fees and stuff

          Left leaning?

She nominated Corbyn in 2015 but then said she regretted it.

She campaigned for Andy Burnham, Owen Smith and Lisa Nandy for Labour leader.

She has fallen out with Starmer on Northern Ireland unification (saying Labour would be neutral - he says Labour would actively fight for the union) and on P&O (her 'rogue company' comment got her into trouble with Starmer).

Generally she is a competent, centrist, Labour member. A loyalist who makes the occasional noise to upset the leadership. She is also very young for her position. Elected MP at 28, and still only 37.

One of the more likeable members of the Cabinet. But not 'left leaning' to my mind.

I wish the councils and housing associations would buy every single one up. Tenants are much safer in the hands of institutional landlords rather than the private sector. However to be able to do this these organisations need massive funding from central government which is not currently available.

Bond yields (which was the biggest criticism of Kwartengs budget) just shot up in the last hour so they clearly aren't happy, though I'm not sure why.

1000’s of new houses have been built to the west of Cardiff from fairwater out past creigiau, I’d love to know how many of this massive project are for social housing…..

                        Absolutely

Very very few landlords are in it because they care 😆

It was Thatcher, destroying protected rent for vulnerable tenants , letting the " market " control rents and giving huge amounts of taxpayers money to council tenants to buy their council houses ....that caused the huge housing crisis in the first place

Be great to see the control of low income housing back with housing associations and local councils

It's a bit rich for landlords who have made plenty of money in the private sector since the mid 1980s to now be getting out the begging bowl

What’s the thing this lot have done which means the way they calculate or report how much they are borrowing has changed now? Mainly so it doesn’t spook the stock market? I missed it earlier, just caught the tail end of it….

The highest 10 percent of income earners will be paying out the most proportionally for this budget 👍

That's what most people have been crying out for , for years

Now the Tories don't like it

One of the biggest issues is actually planning applications, you can now buy off the shelf products (TAP) and sadly RSL’s can’t buy everything and make sure it’s commercially viable.

                              WAG decide.

Yeah I think it's tied to increased borrowing and the OBR downgrading growth
