I bloody give up with predictive text, it put Lemmon in when I first type Lammy, so I deleted it, typed Lammy in again, checked it said Lammy and pressed post and then it comes out as Lamouchi

This is rearranging the deckchairs on the titanic

Most of the same old bunch that are very unpopular still in jobs

The biggest problem for Labour is Starmer

Until he walks the plank the country is walking towards Farage as Prime Minister

“Only those who do not seek power are qualified to hold it”
            Attributed to Plato.

Let’s be honest, right across the political spectrum for a good number of years there seems to have been very slim pickings of candidates with intelligence and integrity.
They all seem sleazy, self serving with the gravitas of Donald Duck.

            What happened to political heavyweights?
Is it just because I am getting older that it seems this way to me…similar to my disdain for a lot of modern culture?

I do honestly think that Corbyn had the morals…unfortunately though, he appeared to be too radical.

Mick Lynch/Blue Labour is something that I could get behind.

Yeah, but let’s be honest, when it comes to sleaze the Tories are streets ahead of anyone else.

There is plenty of schadenfreude on this thread, probably like most threads of a political nature.

Feeling better for someone’s misfortune or getting things wrong.
I posted a few questions to Cyril a little while back, which he answered eloquently…that related to this.

I can’t quite remember but I think my point in questioning was something along the lines of would you rather be wrong in your thinking for the greater good?
There is a a large chance, that isn’t how I put the question or how it was perceived.

Thing is now that politics has become one team against the other (with plenty of other people being left behind thinking WTF?) petty point scoring is what we have as a result.

Has the capability to yield or bend with the wind gone forever when lines have been so deeply drawn in the sand?

The feeling of schadenfreude stems from the belief that she is a false prophet. She fervently condemned every minor, and in the case of the Tories, major, wrongdoing with the zeal of a puritanical preacher, presenting herself as pure and untainted by the greed, gluttony, and self-serving sins of the middle and upper classes. Ange was seen as a person on our side, standing against this entitled establishment.

We initially gave her the benefit of the doubt regarding her pre-government house-flipping, thinking, "I would do that, too." However, as the second-most important person in government, it took her less than a year to join the very ranks of the people she had so passionately condemned.

Her actions validated the quiet guilt felt by a son of a Llanedeyrn single parent who, after drifting away from the Labour Party for decades, wants to keep the money he worked and sacrificed so hard for to ensure his children and their children don't have to grow up like he did. Raynor's behavior simply confirmed that even the "purest" of people can succumb to this and she is a bit of a fraud.

                          Starmer , Reeves , Cooper , Lammy , Streeting , Powell , Rayner , Alexander, Kendal , completely useless

I would lynch the lot of them

Put your list aside, look at the other parties who IMO are no different in that those at the top of each party are equally dislikeable, politics in the UK to keep it relevant is in a shocking state, i'm sure Ms. Raynor went into politics with a genuine desire to do well and show how someone from a background that most of us come from can achieve in life if dedicated and focused enough and as LLan BB above has alluded to, just fell into the swamp of greed in a very short period of time, i'm pretty sure many would follow suit given the opportunity to cream a little off the top when the carrot is dangled thinking that you would be insulated from being caught, Nigel Farage seems to be getting the treatment at the moment and it would appear that he's dodging tax albeit in a different legal (sic) tax avoidance scheme, where is this going to stop ? with the taxation system in the UK as is there will always be many looking to avoid paying it or reducing it, again its the root cause (excessive tax) that needs addressing, the age old solution of just taxing the rich more and more i don't think is the solution and just leads to tax avoidance via many schemes
