Moore has dominated some top centre backs at international level, him + Johnson is a good front 2

I think Moore prospered when teams and defenders saw Bale as the main threat. He certainly added some impetus to our last qualifying campaigns, made a big difference when he came on in the first game against the USA in Qatar and has a decent scoring record at international level. He hasn't really pushed on at Premier League level in a struggling team against international quality defenders most weeks so it will be interesting to see if he can make a difference without Bale to be a a distraction, both physically and reputationally.

Off to Split next week so fingers crossed you are right!

Savage junior declines Wales U21 call up to stay with FGR. Understand his decision but not sure it’s the right one.

If hed miss league games for FGR then its the right decision.

Hopefully we dont get relegated but if we do id expect our players to put club before international call ups if they were getting game time.

Campbell declined too. I think it's a good move, as establishing himself in a team is an important step when transitioning to the men's game, so it is nice to see he is focussed on that.

In the three part documentary Jonny Owen did before the word cup, it was shown that Toshack and Flynn believed players don’t generally start performing to their best at international level until they’ve reached around 40 caps.
So on that basis what they did was vital for what we went on to achieve 2014 to present.

                      Re: Wales Squad

How are we going to line-up without Ben Davies, who has been an ever present in the Welsh team? A back 4 with Neco at left back, or 3 at the back? Whatever way we play I'd be inclined to start Ampadu at CB in a 4 or a 3, as he is doing really well there is Serie A. Then I'd stick Ramsey at DM to play the role he performed for Nice the other evening. Is it too soon to put Harris in midfield alongside him?

Thought they had pulled a left back in from Stoke

If they believe it that's what they're going to do,it doesn't mean it's right and the reason we benefited though? Someone else may have a different opinion.

Isn't that just because most players peak in their mid twenties, which is around the time that they'll reach 40 international caps?

I wouldn't disrupt the defence too much without Ben being there, at least the other players know each others game. Besides that, I think Croatia are going be targeting our left-hand side.

Johnson only joining the squad on Thursday for further medical assessment. Mark Harris and Liam Cullen called up, Hennessey out.
