Re: League 1 - any positives

    None.

Just can't see how the club suddenly sorts it's shit out off the pitch to make even the results particularly interesting.

As it stands we can't buy anyone, legal cases ongoing, and we will be one division below our two rivals.

Well I suppose one positive may be we don't get beaten by Swansea again.

These threads popped up a lot when we were in the prem in reference to the championship. Hasn't worked out too well.

Re: League 1 - any positives

Since we won promotion to this division in 2003, 8 of the current 20 Premier League sides have played in League 1, while 14 of the current Championship have played in League 1.

We are one of only 20 sides that haven't played in League 1 since 2003.

Reckon vinnie will sell up finally realising he hasn’t got what it takes to run a successful club…..who knows then?

If you think our fanbase is going to be attracted to watching league one football you need to go and see your doctor

The games against Bristol City , Swansea and the other bigger gates we have had this season have been swelled by the fact that these are attractive fixtures and those clubs themselves have brought 2000 plus fans

                    That's happened on several occasions

Bristol City , Swansea and Sunderland have all brought far more fans than Pompey and Bristol Rovers will bring

We can't rely on the football public of South Wales to support Cardiff in league one in sufficient numbers

Winning team or not there is no way we will be averaging 19000 next season if we get relegated , so many people have had enough

Season ticket sales are going to be shocking

I will be surprised if our highest gate is 19k , never mind getting anywhere near it as an average

We have struggled with gates in the Championship where do you get the mad cap idea we will do ok by being relegated ?

I can't think of any positives from the scenario.
                      I would be gutted.

Swansea and Bridsol City lording it above us again would be horrible, potentially young fans drifting down there and lost to us.

We need to have a bit more of an optimistic outlook right now though as we aren't down and I think that by hook or by crook that we will be safe.

Mate, I'm not going to keep arguing with you any more. You're clearly not interested in anything I post on a factual nature about this. You've got your own opinion, based on feck all other than your own thoughts.

This is the last time I'm going to say this to you: Every time we've had a successful season in the 3rd tier after relegation we've had bigger crowds. Check the stats. Lots of other clubs of our size have similar.

The issue is whether or not we bounce back with a promotion chase. That would determine our crowds. As I've said lots of times before and that I don't recall you replying to, City fans would sooner watch a promotion race in League 1 instead of a relegation battle from the Championship.

Please stop thinking that, for City fans, the 2nd tier is much bigger than the 3rd. It isn't a great deal. The top flight is the real interest for Cardiff City. What happened last time we were promoted? Crowds dropped in the Championship. I know you thought that was awful, but it happened and has happened in the past. It has happened up lots of other clubs as well.

                          Complete poppycock

When the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Derby , Ipswich and Pompey get relegated they have a loyal fan base to back them up

We simply don't have that and never really have

You sometimes hear old fellas talking about the big crowds of the past ?

Most of these types are whacked up on sedatives as they are dreaming of crowds that were mostly one offs , not regular attendances

Is it embedded in your DNA that you can't be wrong, at any cost?

Give the home crowd entertaining, winning football and a feeling of looking forward to games again and they’ll turn up next season whatever division we’re in - the problems will start occurring if League One football starts to feel like the norm.
