        Different opinions - fair enough.

But, one nation and four nations:

Conversely, there have been plenty of Glamorgan teams with hardly any Welsh representation.
When was the last time Wales didn't have a player on a Lions tour?

So, there is no funding for cricket without the ECB. There is no investment in facilities and the sport dries up.

I've played cricket since I was 7, and the entire time all I wanted to do was play for England. It has never been an issue for me, and every single kid I played with (be it for my club or county) had the same ambition. Cricket is not football, it is a closed shop due to the insane decisions of the ICC (and BCCI). I love cricket, it is a special sport in worse hands than football.

I remember playing an age group final in Aberdare in 2005, we'd finished by the time Giles hit the winning runs and everyone went mental. There were hundreds there, everyone went bonkers. I often see this issue on twitter etc and it is almost always started by people who fundamentally don't like cricket. "Maybe I'd be interested if Wales had a team" etc. Bollocks.

              March 2023 ?

Warren Gatland has picked a British & Irish Lions squad to play a Test the weekend after the Six Nations but failed to include any of his Wales players.

Either way there is no guarantee that a Welsh player would be picked , that’s the point

I can't think of a single current Welsh player who is good enough to play for England. Back in the day we have had Hugh Morris, Steve James, Steve Watkin and Robert Croft who were good enough and should have played more but, apart from those mentioned, are there any Welsh cricketers who could have represented England but haven't?

Steve James im sure is English.

Of those Watkin was unlucky he didnt play more. I think Greg Thomas was unlucky as well.

Of course they fund it, its their product.

Doesn't make me want to support them and it doesn't make the team anything but England.

I've no issue with anyone who supports them if they are Welsh, Scottish, Irish etc I just don't get it. Admittedly I'm not a massive cricket fan but its great sport in the right circumstances and Stokes batting today was brilliant, I'm just glad they lost.

Steve James is from Lydney - loved him when he represented England though

A shout out to Hugh Morris too , who was instrumental getting the Sophia Gardens upgrade and plenty of international matches being played in Wales.

They fund facilities, coaching, players, Glamorgan, the whole lot.

Also, your second point. Every. Single. Time.
