Within a few paragraphs the author will reference about three or four people-A promoter, a Trainer, another Boxer, an opponent. I can't keep up with it, there's no way that i can remember all of those names in such a short passage. When i do come to reading about them again a few pages in, then i have to go back and re read the passage that originally told me who they were. Absolute nightmare. Anyone else have the same problem when reading books with loads of detail......like names....
This seems like bad writing or editing to me. They should expect that an average reader won't have the same engagement as them in the story to know it inside out, and they should be able to put in clues and reminders that are subtle enough to not be distracting.

But that's why I prefer books over kindles and online reading. Easy to flip back.

Take some notes or draw a chart.

Yes. Not just in the anologue era. When I first used a pc based word processing program in the 90s. I carried on doing it until about 2018 when a youngster who was proof reading something for me pointed out that "we don't do that anymore".

Maybe to you. It just looks daft to me.

Welcome to Cardiff City message board

Home of Cardiff City, in the football lad culture world, its "lads" feared by many, respected by all, a team that played at Ninian park which Rio Ferdinand once described as the most hostile ground in the world when he was asked "did he fear returning to Turkey with Leeds? No, you forget I played at Ninian Park last season, the most hostile ground in the world.”

Look where we are now

I don’t think many on here fitted into that particular category you’re referring to.

I was there and made plenty of noise but I don't know if Rio found me hostile.
