Raymond Verhaijen's (sp?) main gripe used to be injuries picked up in preseason .
he used to say training extra hard then was a sure fire way to pick up injuries.

he did also talk a load of crap sometimes

He’s regarded as one of the most promising talents at Liverpool in years. If you are playing PL games for Liverpool at 17 you’ve obviously got some talent.

They are letting him out on loan this season to get some experience and Brentford have now joined Southampton and Leicester in trying to sign him according to reports in the weekend.

To counter the counter point - Michael Owen made his Liverpool debut at 16 and went onto win the Balon d'Or by the time he was 22.

I dont think Woodburns talent was ever in question, more a question of attitude that led to his demise. That said he has been in Championship for lasat 2 years. He hasnt completely dropped off the edge of a cliff like some "next big thing at 17/18 years old" players.

I imagine Salford are paying better wages than most clubs in League One.

He's also lacking physically for the modern game as well as the rumours that went round re: attitude

he's been at Preston the last season or two, my PNE supporting mate described him as utterly useless. he said he's seen him come on in at least 50 games and he can't remember him doing a single good thing at any point.

I guess we've had a few over the years too who are the best of their peers at a certain age but just don't progress

The transfer window is great, isn’t it? We now have hundreds, if not thousands of Cardiff City fans on tenterhooks waiting to see if the club finally announces the signing of a player who has played half a season at League One level and the vast majority of us had never heard of a month ago.

Do you think Liverpool fans had heard of Ian Rush before he was signed from Chester when they forked out £300k or Ronnie Whelan before he signed from Home Farm , or had you heard of Gavin Gordon prior to his hat trick for Lincoln , it’s just harmless message board topics and nothing new.
