FWIW , most of the deals that get over the line are the ones nobody is aware of until they are actually confirmed.

The transfer window is great, isn’t it? We now have hundreds, if not thousands of Cardiff City fans on tenterhooks waiting to see if the club finally announces the signing of a player who has played half a season at League One level and the vast majority of us had never heard of a month ago.

It is the magic of the transfer window. It is fantasy and irrationality and misplaced optimism. It's great!

My biggest frustration with the delay (hopefully just a delay) in announcing Robertson is that I can't get on and start fretting about the next signing until it is officially done.

The next signing will be a 'hidden gem' striker who will collect the Golden Boot come May! :hehe:

It's fantastic, isn't it? I was out at our weekly quiz in Barry last night. There are a few City season ticket holders among the regulars. Naturally enough, the Robertson signing was a subject of conversation before the quiz. We were checking phones at half time to see if it had finally been announced and phones were being checked again on the way home. This over a kid none of us had heard of a few weeks ago. Comical, really.

I read some time ago that City and Man city have agreed terms. Then I read that other contenders had conceded he was coming here. Then i read that 'discussions' were on-going.
Perhaps his agent is being a knobber a upping the anti on personal terms. He needs to be careful he doesn't shoot himself and his client in the foot.

Pretty sure it's just a timing thing.

Man City gave Robertson the option of what he wanted to do, in terms of club and loan/transfer. If he had said Pompey then they'd have made a deal work there. He gave Cardiff as his answer and it seems to have been pretty amicable. Relations are really good, the Doyle loan a few years ago did a lot of good PR for us.

Once Glen and Abbo have confirmed virtually done then you know the club have briefed them and it’s a done deal.

Abbo is comedy online, doesn’t have a clue and is a PR piece for the club stating what a great signing Kanga is (despite admitting he’d only watched a brief highlights video) and arguing with anyone who raised concerns about the deal. Then stating he’d known about the deal but didn’t want to reveal it incase he scuppered it... as a journalist. He loves that excuse as a reason for why he hasn’t reported something but even worse are the people who lap up his shit instead of realising he has as much inside knowledge as the rest of us

You can't have it both ways. Either the club has briefed him and he has inside knowledge or they haven't and he doesn't.

They brief him at the last moment when it suits them and the deal is already done so he gets in slightly before an official announcement as a little something to keep him sweet so he continues to sing from their hymn sheet on other matters, whether that’s Kanga or off the field matters. I noticed he was praising Vincent Tan and Dalman recently.

In terms of actual inside knowledge there is none. This is why the club are never held to account by local media.

CCFCWelshlad is the definition of someone who has genuine inside knowledge, in this thread alone he has offered more of an insight to the deal. He doesn’t chase the clout either with it like all others
