No, an 'undisclosed fee' was paid for Horvarth. Also Transfermrkt has it as a question mark rather than a free. Tan allowed expenditure of £2m + last January, there is no reason why he shouldn't this season.

Peterborough's season is over, the player is out of contract in 6 months time. There is no way he is not going to be sold to the highest bidder. I doubt the fee will be as much as £2m. Also, if we are using the McGuinness money as what triggered the summer expenditure (which I accept) surely there is still a surplus?

Tan can afford the £1m+ that Jones (clearly a Taffy) will cost, relegation will be more expensive.

Am I being over optimistic?

I see Wikipedia says we paid an undisclosed fee for Horvarth, but there's no mention of a fee being paid on the City website story confirming the deal.

Just had a look at the League One table and was surprised by how badly Peterborough are doing, They have a five point cushion from the bottom four, but they could easily go down, so I'd guess that they would want to get some sort of fee for Jade-Jones before his contract runs out to use for recruiting players this month.

Can't see him signing for us though.

Ryotaro Tsunoda has joined K.V. Kortrijk on loan until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Roko Šimić has now returned to the Welsh capital after spending the first half of the season on loan in Kortrijk.

This means we now have one space in the squad for a player over the age of 21. We need more than that to stay up so a few are going to have to leave. But who would take our fringe players never mind the first choice ones?

Or will we be paying up contracts to move players out?

I don't think Tsunoda was named in our squad, as he was a long term injury

It was a joke.

Daland was over 3m, Simic 2m, Turnbull 2m, Robertson, Horvath and Fish all over 1m. Tan has spent money, and he will have to this window. I don't know where the idea Tan doesn't spend money comes from, our wage bill is enormous and we buy players. We just happen to buy dreadful ones regularly. Tan isn't cheap, he's just thick and let's the clowns that are on the board run the club into the ground.

It’s the most important signing he continually gets wrong, the manager. Mainly because he thinks he knows best. It’s working really well….

Horvarth was a free wasn’t he? Our summer spending would be largely covered by the McGuinness fee. That said, we hear endlessly that relegation would be a complete disaster for Tan, so wouldn’t he sanction a £2 million signing this month? There’d have to be a departure tor two to help balance wages, but desperate times and all that.

Apart from the wages of those 5 new players, which probably won't be far away from what we're getting from the transfer fee.

Even though I doubt we have any intention of signing him do we actually think a non prolific goalscorer from L1 is going to shoot us up the table??

I'd say he was worth a punt if we were mid table. Young players with potential with a possible sell on value.

If we've money to spend I don't think this is where it should be going.

I'm not pointing fingers at you, but people have short memories on how much Tan has actually spent during his tenure.

I was thinking in terms of transfer fees, but if you’re talking wages, I make it we got rid of ten senior players last summer (some were here on loan and a couple of others were loaned out) - you add Ryan Wintle and Mark McGuinness to that and I’d say any increase in our football budget compared to last year would be pretty small.

I'm pretty sure the squad list becomes almost void during the transfer window, in as much you can make changes throughout January to your registered players. Obviously won't want to have an excess of players we can't register at the end of January. However should impact/delay any transfers in.

Kanga is one that should be a no brainer to remove from the squad easily enough.

Getting rid of others is going to be very difficult.

It's a right mess but the clowns don't see it that way.

Hopefully the newsletter will cheer everyone up.

Apart from Tsunoda to Kortrijk on loan again, and Kanga returned to Hertha if possible, the other senior name recently discussed in the press for a move away was Collins. Three 'senior' vacant places in the 25 man squad should be enough, maybe supplemented by a young loan striker and back up from the u21s.
