(I'm not suggesting that that's why the club is bringing the action by the way.)
I hope a further contribution will be made to the family trust should the club be successful.
Very often in the case of tragedies a combination of factors can end up being considered as responsible. It can be a mixture of negligence, criminality, bed practice, poor judgement and corruption to different degrees and by different parties.

So it is alleged. But the actual truth of who did what, who knew what and who was happy with what (until things went wrong) will almost certainly never be clearly determined. Some of the claims and excuses are genuinely laughable, though. It's a tragic case that has exposed just how low football clubs and the people who run them will stoop when money is involved.

This article appears very clear in respect of what the football club offered.

        As does this one

In litigation terms everything is alleged until a verdict is reached, but I wouldn’t have thought the club would have any case to make if the offer of a commercially available flight wasn’t offered to the deceased player.

And the fans who support their team blindy in situations like this no matter the dismal actions they take.

I'm not sure the case hinges on City's alleged offer. Interesting comments from Dalman in the Sky Sports report you linked though:

"We have looked into this quite thoroughly and it is quite evident that Cardiff has the responsibility to offer the player to make arrangements [for travel], which will be commercial flights," Dalman told Sky Sports News.

"That would have meant taking the train from Nantes to Paris, then Paris to Heathrow, then drive down [to Cardiff]. The player's reaction to that was that he wanted to make his own arrangements which would be much quicker."

But not safe, would you have tried to go in a death trap plane on a night like that?

I would have said, sod that, I'll go tomorrow, the club would have understood.

                    Matt Lawson The Times.

Mercedes Taffarel, the mother of Emiliano Sala, has issued a statement this evening following yesterday’s hearing in Nantes. For legal reasons I can’t quote it all but she said:

“I was unfortunately not able to join the trial as my flight was cancelled. Hearing about the way FC Nantes pleaded its case is repulsing. All I want is for justice to be done.”

So she has a strong feeling for who was responsible, and it's not Cardiff City.

I wouldn't wish to presume anything regarding this case which isn't already public knowledge but it does seem surprising that the club doesn't insist as part of players' contract a list of the airlines and companies they are obliged use when flying.

Slightly off topic, how did the McKay kids get into the CCFC academy? Furthermore, were they any good and who who are they playing for now?

                            They weren't kids:

Cardiff City have strengthened their U23 ranks this January Transfer Window with the addition of four new players.

Jack is now playing for Doncaster City. Paul is playing for the Jersey Bulls.

How did they end up at Cardiff City as 21 year-olds in 2018 when the club was pushing for promotion to the Premier League? Interesting question...

Yeah, I mean the twins are the most damning evidence for me for anyone who says we weren't in bed with McKay. Based on some in this thread you'd have thought they were in the Nantes academy rather than ours during this period.
