Hadn't read the whole thread, but guessed it would be something like this.

I just read the first few and the last few as they get repetitive.

We are top of the division, 3 of our best young players have just penned long contracts and the immediate matter will be resolved soon if it hasn’t been already. The club has already said it won’t affect our January business.
Don’t let all that get in the way of a good moan though.

As a director, you’re legally responsible for running the company and making sure information is sent to Companies House on time. You can hire a professional (for example, an accountant) to help manage your company, but you’re still legally responsible for your company’s records, accounts and performance.

Dalman and Choo as directors, delegated a task, not responsibility.
Apparently the job was delegated to Choo but he forgot to chase the auditors up as he was in London finalising a deal to buy a bunch of used Austin Allegro's for HR Owen

How many transfer embargos have we been under over the last 10 years or so. We must have missed about half the transfer windows.

The club gave the responsibility to the accountants to sign off on time. If they fail to do so then as you state they are legally responsible and may face a sanction. However, that is not the end of the matter as the directors can take action against the auditor for negligence to recover any losses. It appears the auditor was negligent by not signing off the accounts on time and caused is client (CCFC) a loss (transfer embargo)

In theory the club could sue but that is unlikely in this case.

We have been arguing over conflated lines. The directors are legally responsible for filling the accounts but the auditor is ultimately responsible for losses if they are negligent (not signing off on time)

Providing this is reversed within 7 days no real harm has been done and this whole matter is a storm in a tea cup

Where did the suggestion of auditors being at fault come from?

From the Trust after they spoke to the club.

So, I take it we can expect to hear that the embargo has been lifted today or tomorrow given that we're getting towards the end of the week and there's still not been any news on it.

Got to be grateful they did that root and branch investigation into everything wrong with the club. Any more club communication and id be overwhelmed.

The other board indicating it will be next week now (I know it is the other board but hey ho🤔) lack of information from the club means the gap will be filled by information from elsewhere as always

Why don’t you email the club and ask them to post a message on here as soon as the embargo is lifted ? That way we can all relax and breath easier.

Some sledgehammer wit being applied there I see.

I’m reluctant to contact the club because, having read their original message to supporters about the embargo, they’re clearly on some sort of Twitter like deal where the number of characters they can use is limited to something like 200 - best leave it to Glen Williams or a supporters group to tell us.
