Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread (Summer 2026)

Wareham had a solid season at Exeter. A move to a bigger club makes sense. Bolton and Cardiff are a step up. Lincoln is more sideways but still a good level.

Two divisions will separate Lincoln and Exeter next season.

Wes Burns out of contract at Ipswich, hasn’t been offered a new deal yet. Rumours suggest we’ve made contact.

With Wintles release id say BBM is confident on getting an upgrade. Maybe an out of contract player already agreed.

Wonder if we have a sell-on clause.

I wouldn't be surprised if we sold him for a significant six figure fee the way York were spending money last summer!

Malachi Fagan-Walcott's contract at York City includes a sell-on clause, with details indicating his former club, Cardiff City, retained a cut of any future transfer fee when they sold him. The exact percentage of the sell-on clause remains undisclosed, but it is expected to yield Cardiff a significant cut if Fagan-Walcott moves on.

Charlie is a lovely lad and has a great attitude. In his first season he was OK. It was in 24/25 where he really stepped up. Plenty of goals and assists and some great tracking back with some fine last ditch tackles.
However in 25/26 he has regressed. The goals and assists were markedly down and there were many ordinary performances.
Not all down to him because our manager's sole tactic is that all the play should go through Lewis Wing.
One area he has improved is his short cushioned passes which have been highly effective at times.

At the moment he is highish end League One. Under the right manager there may be a Championship player in there.
So as a fanbase we will wish Charlie well but will move on from him. It won't be seen as a big loss.

If BBM feels there is a championship player there he could be the right manager and I am happy to rely on his judgement
