The Scottish games tonight have been a great watch. Hearts winning, Celtic drawing at Mothwell.
If it stays like this Celtic have to beat Hearts by 4 goals on Saturday. A goal for Celtic means they just need a win on Saturday, but another Motherwell tonight and Hearts are champions

Like the West Ham / Arsenal decision it’s the timing and the implications of the decision that heightens the reactions. Why the Motherwell player decided to throw his arm up is beyond me. It’s a penalty.

If they gave to use VAR they should have challenges like they do in the NFL, give managers two a half, something like that.

You’re probably right. It’s difficult to beat the team in front of you, the referee and VAR.

If it has touched his hand, the way the ball flies away any contact must minimal.

If under current rules it's a penalty, so be it but I think the whole penalty system needs a rethink, irrespective of var.

You shouldn't be getting a free shot on goal for the ball grazing the hand in that situation, it has given the defender zero advantage. There is no threat of a Celtic shot on goal let alone anything like a good chance.

Personally I'd reserve penalties for the most obvious denials of goal scoring opportunities. The rest give a yellow and a free kick.

In the above scenario Cardiff City are awarded 1 less penalty.
