Yes I would tend to agree on Fredericks having seen him play,

Think you are probably right about Hogan as well.

It’s your team, so Hogan it is. Been trying to think of someone who could play wicketkeeper to get Kaliis in the team and I’m sure Majid played the occasional game as one of- sure Marnus would give it a go as well!

Yes I am sure I saw Majid as keeper at least once.

England need to be reminded of all the league titles that have been won by one point.
I see our old friend Bashir had a tough time of it - apparently England's most expensive bowling figures in a test since 1950 (and third of all time).

In fact, according to the BBC, no test spinner with as many overs as Bashir has as high an economy rate. Whatever Stokes sees there continues to be a mystery to the rest of us mere mortals.

When you think of the amount of analytics and coaching that will be going into him aswell, for him to be still be this useless is quite impressive. Really poor player, not anywhere near county standard let alone test level

Yep Kallis has to be in and much as Cooke had been brilliant he would have to fall out of the side. Maybe Majid behind the stumps then.

No mention so far of Shubman Gill? I couldn't have Marnus walking out to bat whilst Shubman is just carrying out the drinks.

This has brought back memories of Roland Lefebvre. Him and Barwick won us the Sunday League. Legends.

😆 On current form that's difficult to argue against. So many quality batsman have played for the county. Do you drop Labuschsgne who was phenomenal for us in 2019 and reached the top of the batting world rankings? Gill's form in the last Test was astonishing and he did well for us.

Paul Walter 6/1 to top score for Essex against Somerset tonight. Looks a good price. Moved to the top of the order last game and looked in great touch

Just on my way back from Merchant Taylor School after watching Middlesex v Hampshire. Looked like Middlesex were going to do us a favour and beat Hampshire. Hampshire 7 down and needing 32 off the last 13 balls. Unfortunately Noah Cornwell chose that moment to bowl his second above waist full toss of the game, it also went for 4 byes. Captain du Plooy stepped up to bowl the 1 remaining ball and got thumped for 6. Much easier equation of 20 from 2 overs got knocked off quite easily.

Big game for us tomorrow now, need a win to keep us above Hampshire.

If Ben Kellaway played for Surrey or Middlesex et al what's the betting they would be talking about him as all rounder who could play instead of Bashir!

I was just thinking, if City could have two youngsters break into the first team and do as well as Kellaway and Tribe have for Glamorgan this season and another who could produce the occasional eye catching performance like Leonard has done, I think it would be a big step towards us being able to challenge for a top six finish.

Said exactly the same myself to my cricket-loving pub friends!

Kellaway is the sort of interesting player Stokes would love! Looks class as a batsman in Division 2, and bowls either right or left with some success! But - in Division 2.
