I think they had two points deducted in their last game for a slow over rate.

That can be the only explanation.

It's a bit misleading. There have been plenty of point deductions this season but there isn't a column in the table for them so the points don't add up. We've been docked a point and Kent 14 in our division while there are a number in the first division too.

I like to think we'll be fine next season but I'd suggest we bowl our overs nice and quickly just in case we need every point we can get.

Eddie Byrom and Will Smale each extend for another two years, presumably both with the white ball in mind. Although I wonder if Byrom will come back into the red ball team given ul Hussain's struggles.

          Tom Bevan is also leaving.

Good job we didn't need anything out of this last match - 114-6 at lunch. Already on the beach perhaps?

Think the pitch is doing a fair bit.

I see the counties have gone for the status quo and it’ll be the same again next season as far as the county Championship is concerned. Nick Webb was arguing against bringing in too many newcomers during this morning’s play, but I foresee a long hard season if we don’t bring in a couple of good seamers especially.

Agreed. The bowling attack isn't good enough for Division One. We also need at least one opener. I like Tribe but am far from convinced he's an opener. Ul Hussan isn't good enough and has been given plenty of chances.

Notts wrap up the division 1 title. Nice to see Surrey miss out, and a tidy bet come in aswell !

Can't believe this Lancashire side haven't done more this year with the players they have.

Good side on paper and doing very well so far. Sitting on a 12 point lead currently at the top. Surrey still short, but they look a bit weak in the bowling department, and their batting lineup will be hit hard by the England squad.
                    Definitely owe you a pint

Well done on the bet. Spot on.
I was thinking the very same about Lancashire yesterday. Talking of bets. They will be worth a punt on winning promotion next season.

What was that from Ul-Hussan. Such a silly shot.

The reason why Kent have gone from established Division 1 team to worst team in the country in two seasons is that they've had to get used to facing scores of 500 plus too often. They've had a lot of injuries which doesn't help, but I read something by a Kent fan saying they should be prioritising bowlers with whatever money they can spend, rather than bringing in another batsmen like Northeast.

Credit to Glamorgan, they often found a way to take twenty wickets in a match with an attack that was one of the weaker ones in Division 2 on paper, but I can't see someone like Harris making an impression in the first division and I wish Van Der Gugten was a year or twqo younger when he got his chance in the top division.

I'm afraid that we need some really well thought out recruitment through the winter, because I can see us being that team which concedes 500 as a matter of course through next summer and while Dickson for Northeast probably strengthens our white ball batting, it certainly doesn't when it comes to the red ball stuff.

Agree that two pace bowlers are needed. Unless there are domestic players with funky clauses in their contracts, I don't think there any decent out-of-contract players left.

I wonder if turning Ingram into a domestic player and going with 2x overseas quicks is the answer (would be great to have Neser back!). Winning 3 games typically keeps you up - two quality overseas bowlers, alongside VdG and Crane, should be enough for that to be achieved.

The fact that they've offered new contracts to Byrom and Root, and gone after de Lange, suggests they're not optimistic of sourcing much quality though...

Glamorgan are bracing themselves for a "significant step-up" as they prepare for life in Division One, says chief executive Dan Cherry.

Both Ben Kellaway ans Asa Tribe have been selected for the Lions tour.
                                Well deserved.

Rehan Ahmed, Jordan Cox and Sonny Baker are named in an England Lions squad that will shadow the senior side on the tour of Australia.
