I think his appointment as leader would be the last thing Labour or Lib's will want to see .

Maybe the opposition should start supporting him in votes ( oh hang on ? )
most likely successor I guess with him and starmer up for the top job next time at least it is unlikely to be decided by personalities

It means nothing. Mid term tactical voting, that's all. Now, if it had been Labour who had won the seat, then maybe Boris would be worried. This is just disaffected Tories telling him to rein things in a bit, and get a grip. The way I see it, it's just a slap on the wrist. I don't think he's got anything to worry about, whatever the papers might say.

Having said that, the Tories never dreamed they would lose by that amount, nobody did. Last night after polls closed the Tories shortened to 1/2 on Betfair, weird market.
        A good summary.

I think he's got plenty to worry about.

Yes, there will definitely be some unease amongst the tory back benchers. If the conservtives can lose a seat they've held for 200 odd years then plenty of others might be worried about Johnson scuppering their chance of reelection.

I don't know where this 200 years business came from. The constituency as it is now was only created in 1983.

It used to be Oswestry, and changed its name to North Shropshire in 1983 with minor boundary changes.

This is the same Lib Dem's that got into Bed with the Tories to form the con-dem's and share power

lets face is, they all want a little power, and dont really care how they get it

I'm glad you con-demed them for that little aberration; sorry, I meant abomination.

What was labours share of the vote ?

It's not going to be great as these rural areas tend to be fox hunting tory types or liberals

Tactical voters, sensible too! I would like to see a completely new party attack the Tories. It would represent Labour, Lib Dem, Greens, and everything else anti-Tory. I would call it the Progressive party. I think this would garner younger votes over time.
