Actually just thinking about this. I can't win can I? I don't know the rules of your game(s). If I write him off = bad. If he wins me over = bad. Having new information and forming an opinion = bad. Reasoning like an adult = bad. Hypocrisy = good. Blimey, I do know the rules after all!

I think Morison is the most exciting thing to happen to the City in some time. He's saved our season. He's made the best loan signings I can remember.

I agree, why is there an anti morrison vibe on here.
It's not flower arranging it's professional football. The players have to harden up a bit .
Morrison got the sub spot on, we could have been 2 0 down at half time.
People should stop thinking players are precious souls

Took my time to open this thread, and it's no different to what I expected. I've read things such as
"So upset he stayed out all alone"- commentators even said it was probably a smart thing to do as not to distracted away form the Half time talk..
He was being "consoled by pack" ****ing hell is this a football player we're talking about or a divorced woman being fussed over by her girlies?

I am intrigued what else I will read, glad I saved it all up for 200 odd posts to have a good season long binge on it..

But, unless I’ve missed something, all of the evidence of the past four months or so says that Morison only has a go at a certain group of players in public - those qualified by age to play for our under 23 team. Yet, for me, it is an experienced group of players who have let us down more this season - presumably, the thinking at he start of the season was that we would be able to bed in the number of young players we’ve used this season because there was an experienced nucleus to the team capable of doing enough to prevent the very type of season we’ve had. Clearly, they haven’t been able to that, yet Morison stays silent about that week after week.

Perhaps he sees something worth fighting for in the ones he's having a pop at, and isn't bothered ti act the same way with the older more experienced lot .

Perhaps he isn't this nasty bully.

I had to look up the word hyperbole because I swear it's not enough to describe what I've just read.

He's had plenty of praise for the results but we've only played 25% of the matches left this season since the new signings. Look at the fixture list and measure us by the scalps we've taken from top teams at the end of the season before we start burning incense to the shrine of Morison.

Out of the 5 we've played, Forest is the biggest win for me. We still have to play Derby twice. I want to see what those two matches throw up because they're going to be juicy encounters against a side managed by Rooney, another Rookie. Please can we be careful about projecting form on the basis of so few matches? Plus, 4 out of 5 sounds great on paper but with 75% of matches yet to play it's way too early to be going this overboard.

Why not wait until the end of the season? Is that too much to ask?

I'll not beat this drum any longer because I'm starting to bore myself now but all this 'tough love, 'kick up the arse', 'tells it how it is, 'outspoken', 'ruthless' stuff is a smokescreen. I've been on the receiving end of all that sh*t at various times throughout my life and in every other working environment, it's called bullying. Always has been, always will be. But football seems to get a free pass. Morison gets a free pass. Well it'll never happen from me.

I'll measure Morison at the end of the season by both results and whether he learns to take ownership and acknowledge he's responsible. Right now, to me. he's a 38 hot-head in a top job he doesn't deserve. I want to see him earn it.

I've already said we should wait until this end of the season. There's no reason not to. I'm just saying I like what I see and hear so far.

I have no beef with you. I think you're a good poster. "A 38 (year-old) hot-head in a top job he doesn't deserve"? He's got us playing football. we're (almost) safe. The last two managers were sacked because we were in freefall. If you don't like Morsison, give me a
name. And as for hyperbole, how about "top job"?

Personally, I think everybody should follow your guidance where managers are concerned. After all, it was not long ago that you were proudly championing a fella you described as one of the brightest and exciting young managers in the British game, and you were lambasting anyone who dared to criticise him. He's gone on to achieve great things since then. His name is Neil Harris and he's currently in charge of Gillingham.

I did acknowledge my hypocrisy. Just to be serious for a moment: I'm very sensitive to the Steve Morison kind of person so I'll respond emotionally. He's not my kind of guy. It's no more complicated than that really. Of course, I'm being hypocritical because I'd have to be a bloody Saint not to be. I don't know him. He could kick puppies in the face for a hobby but as long as CCFC is doing well, who would care? I would.

You know well enough that if a feel I've made an error I'll try and rectify it. My opinions on things change. That's healthy don't you think?
