Isn't this what happened to Neil Harris too when he tried to change the 'style' and we said it was down to Warnock players not being able to play football, yet after the 'best transfer window ever' according to many, our possession stats are still rubbish. That Derby match was awful. Yes, we won. Is it possible to win and play football at CCFC at home or is that too far a leap these days?

TOBW mentioned a few things that resonated with me. My feeling is that Morison will become too afraid to lose. I dread to think what he'll be like as a manager/person during a losing streak. People know I can't stand him and think he's a bully. I won't ever support the appointment of anyone at Cardiff City who I think is a bully. That's not unreasonable. You may feel I'm being unreasonable in calling him out as one though.

Yes, avoiding relegation was essential. Avoiding making the same management appointment mistakes is going to take a bit longer it seems.

I'm not aware of that lately but I'll take your word for it. DML again I guess. Surely it's not what this thread and others are about though? On the last page you were saying 'I'm sick of it. If we're going to tread water let's do it with a bit of style. I don't enjoy watching us have 30% possession...' as though good football was the be all and end all to you. Plenty of others saying similar but I don't understand how anyone with that mindset can still be going to City games after the last ten years.

How did people think the playing side was going to look after Warnock left? Or McCarthy? Why was it ok for them to play rubbish football when relegation talk was in the air but Morison should be playing his way out of it? As I said, we had the majority of possession in the three games before this run but it wasn't working so he changed it. Fair enough, it's sport not art after all.

The Preston game was awful, I didn't see the Blackburn game but as we had 66% possession then I assume it was more than twice as entertaining as the Peterborough game (and nearly twice as entertaining as when we beat Villa a few years back). I didn't see Bristol City either, I had a quick look through the match thread earlier and it was pretty much all negative.

I'm with you though, I'd love us to play good football. I've watched plenty of under-23 and Academy games over the years and we play excellent stuff at that level. Morison was involved with that and I'm still hoping we're moving towards something similar at first team level but I'm not expecting that transition to be quick or smooth. It may turn out to be another terrible appointment by the club, of course, but I'd like to think the player recruitment we make in the close season will mean, even if Morison fails, there's a better footballing squad for the next guy to take forward.

Possession stats can be misleading. Maybe teams decided to let us have the ball because they see that as our weakness, possession. It's plain to see that the last three games have seen us hit balls into channels etc, there is less emphasis on us as a team keeping hold of the ball.

To be honest, I haven't got a clue what you're talking about most of the time on Morison. I followed a bonkers thread on here during Storm Watters (I battened down the hatches and stayed well out of it) which ended up with DML and Dembe running rings round you. Not a good look.

You make a good point in your first line though. Morison seemed so set on what he was doing that I wouldn't have expected any kind of u-turn from him but he certainly seems to have made one in recent weeks. I'm hoping it's not a permanent shift but it's hard to be critical of the run we've been on, greatly helped by the players he brought in during January. I'd love to see us play good football too but how anyone can see the recent upturn in results as being a failure is absolutely beyond me. You carry on though.

And of course, ad hominem is. You could play nice and just discuss the football. You weren't personally attacked.

Possession stats hurt my head. Leicester were 18th for possession when they won the Premier League, 19th for pass accuracy. We were 21st for possession and 24th for pass accuracy when we got promoted under Warnock. I spent most of the early games that season thinking we were going to get stuffed then we'd come away with a win and I thought we'd been lucky. But it kept happening and I couldn't understand how. Tuesday took me back to that.

Of course, when you set up like that and the results stop coming, as they inevitably do, it's a horrible watch. As we all know too well. Hopefully Morison isn't going to fall into that trap.
