    Re: Colwll and Davies

Anyway back to the main point on this thread, that little number 10 up front for Argentina wouldn't be wanted by some of our lot because he can't head for toffee.

Colwill needs to drastically mature in his decision making

Too many risks taken with little reward there.

Pretty when it comes off but doesn't far too often. Time and a place

Not to say he shouldn't work hard, he should, but I find a lot of his detractors gloss over his ability as if the players being picked ahead of him bring his skillset, they don't. There's very little flair or skill in that side, and considering goals are an issue for us I think we'd be mad not to pick a player who has shown he can create and score. The kid's clearly a talent, he's impressed at international level as well as in the Championship, he's shown his ability against good international sides in the Nations League so I find the idea of playing Andy Rinomhota as our most advanced midfielder whilst Colwill is on the bench to be a little odd
Rinomhota is good at winning the ball back and he should give it to a blue shirt. He's got a first touch like a trampoline and he gives it away constantly. Colwill is very talented at one aspect, I'd love to give him a go. He has to stay fit and play, and develop the other side of his game. We can't properly comment on him at the moment as he is just doesn't play. You can't walk past Dutch players if you're not a good player though. Based off Saturday, I think you have to play Etete and Robinson up top, so God knows where Colwill fits in? I guess maybe off the left, with Harris on the other side, with Ralls/Rino/Sawyers partnering Wintle.

Re some posts about Paterson playing 10, I would snap your hands off for 17/18 Paterson. I'd love a player that scores 10 in 32 games, with only 23 starts. The post injury Patto, perhaps not but let's not forget how much of a handful and effective he was. He played a fair bit at right back in those early games as well. It wasn't a conventional 10, it is like playing another striker and he just acted as another body in the middle when we didn't have the ball.

He was hardly shabby as a striker in the PL as well, as unconventional as he was.

He was barely involved early on. Had a "purple" patch, then Omar Niasse replaced him as a striker. Who did better for us as a striker - Niasse or Paterson?

Being less shit than someone else doesn't make you good.

Blimey it’s Neil Warnock, how many goals has Colwill cost us?
