Re: Senedd Election 2026
Completely agree, it is absolutely crazy.
I think Reform voters come down to two types of people. Those stupid enough that they fall for the rhetoric and the main stream media narrative pushed by rich men that it will heavily benefit for reform to be successful. They fall for the tales of those coming into the country are to blame for years of mismanagement and a capitalist culture. Division, hatred and inequality summed up and they don’t bother looking into anything as it’s not pushed in the media.
Then you’ve got the semi active ones (like in this thread) that are fully aware and simply do not care. They’re happy to (at best) look past the racist comments and at worst would agree, they’re happy to make the UK and Wales a worse place and a more intimidating place for so many minorities. They’re happy to enable thugs who want to threaten people across England putting their flags of division up on streets and lampposts to intimidate people. In the hope it improves their bitter and twisted lives slightly as they’ve fallen into the rabbit hole of blaming everything wrong in their lives on immigrants, the vast majority who will contribute to the country and provide services they would never. The other ones where the majority have faced the type of hardship in life that makes them risk their life on a small boat for a small chance of a better life.
I have some sympathy for the former as you have a lot of stupid people that are disengaged but the latter are a disgrace in my opinion. They hide behind blanket statements and the odd referral to another policy they can’t even support to avoid revealing their genuine thoughts on why they’re voting for a party that does little to hide what they’re really about.
