of course we did , huge mistake appointing Ed, he was hopeless

      Foot
      Kinnock
      Ed Milliband
      Corbyn

Dreadful , these people were never going to sweep up that middle ground

Labour elected Blair who was like a breath of fresh air when he came in , then he went psychotic and everything unravelled

David Milliband would have made a good leader but he lost out then bottled out , floating around like a lonely turd

This is a great reply, even for you.

You’ve called me a Tory in the past but see Blair as a realist? He was a Tory.

You say Corbyn and Momentum flattened the Labour Party? They tried clawing it back from the ‘right’. I’ll leave aside the concerted efforts to bring a Corbyn down by media and Starmer disciples as we could be here all day.

You’ve swerved the questions about Scotland.

Where did the disillusioned Labour supporters go to? The Tories, Lib Dem’s or somewhere with more left wing policies than Labour were offering at that time?

        Have another think.

I hated Blair after his illegal war but he brought a middle ground party to uk politics for the first time since 1979

          Its a generation

He failed on many levels but the NHS was improved as was education

Was he to the right of the Labour Party? Of course

But did Benn , Skinner , Abbott , Bernie Grant , Corbyn get some form of Labour party elected ?

Tony Benn is still up there in the sky telling us how great his policies are

Which is fine but in the world of modern politics does feck all to get you elected to implement any policies

Corbyn was an idiot who gave the right wing media all the ammo they needed to shoot him down . Diane Abbott on your front bench ff sake .He may as well have phoned Derek Hatton .

Throw in the bullying momentum and you give the daily mail everything it wants and needs to scare people

I swerve a lot of stuff as I simply can't be arsed , its blame everyone but ourselves nonsense

The last sentence. I'm fuucking howling here.

You're either done me like a kipper or you're lacking any self awareness.

If it's the former, well played handsome, if it's the latter, fuuck me silly.

Birmingham Perry Barr MP Khalid Mahmood explained the results by saying

“Labour has lost touch with ordinary British people” and a “London-based bourgeoisie, with the support of brigades of woke social media warriors, has effectively captured the party”.

“They mean well, of course, but their politics – obsessed with identity, division and even tech utopianism – have more in common with those of Californian high society than the kind of people who voted in Hartlepool yesterday.

“The loudest voices in the Labour movement over the past year in particular have focused more on pulling down Churchill’s statue than they have on helping people pull themselves up in the world,” Mahmood wrote

Will never be forgotten for causing the death of the labour party in England

The jocks are lost , in Wales Welsh Labour has a solid vote

Scrap English Labour Party and start again

                You sometimes talk sense, Sludge.

                But not this time.

The Labour Party in England is not dead - it is wounded and may need to change a lot to become electorally successful again.

Everyone involved shares some blame, but you are mostly looking in the wrong direction. Corbyn, Momentum etc are not responsible for the civil war that crippled Labour - they were the main targets.

The loudest voices in the Labour movement over the past year have been running focus groups, blaming an ex leader and flying union flags whilst overseeing a campaign without policies, personality or direction, and achieving embarrassing failure.

Keir Starmer has got a full grip on the problem and has the solutions too:

"Changing the things that need changing and that is the change that I will bring about."

There is no way back from this now

We have lost seats in working class towns like Bolsover, in towns in the mining and ship building areas of the North East

The local authority power base in the metropolitan areas and big cities is eroding
