I'm reasonably sure the news cycle will be changed later on, Robinson and his boys are looking for a big turnout in London today (i think its today), what possibly could go wrong ? after a couple of hours work and watching the city later, i'm expecting to see police clashing with pot bellied, bald St. George dressed piss heads on the national news later this evening, The Big O might even re enter the matrix screaming faaaar right, faaaar right, faaaar right (come back fella it's only a game!!) and we can all start rowing about something else!!!, nothing will ever convince me otherwise that the culture wars are by design, look here don't look over there!!!.

I see that Steven Yaxley-Lennon will utilize the memory of Charlie Kirk to promote love and peace at his big rally in London today. Steve Bannon, amongst others, is to speak so it's likely to be a heartwarming event.

Forgot to add, you usually see a couple of Welsh Dragons on display at these marches, i know the one of them, is the Dragon belonging to Sludge and his mates from the snug in the Red Lion.

I am surprised you are not having a champagne breakfast remembering today's great event from 1982 ?

Apparently its a family event ?

I am 😆 here at the idea of any parent taking kids to events like this , not withstanding possible risk of injury

And isnt it also indoctrinating young minds politically which is what the commie lefties do ?

I was hoping that there would be some conciliatory messages out there.
I watched a few, but then I watched Cenk from TYT (who posted a really heartfelt message on Wednesday) and Dave Rubin going at it Hammer and Tongs.

Bill Maher was very good as usual last night.
There is a lot of tension though between my friends on both sides of the political spectrum and sadly I predict retaliation.

On the other hand I can understand why love of our planet and it's precious life is sacred and should be cherished.

I have to say all the left of centre friends I know are kind, compassionate, progressive and balanced but I can't speak of those in the US of course. Incidentally I agree with all you've listed on your penultimate paragraph so we've got to be on the same page somewhere.
It’s just how it is for me Dorcus.
I guess it’s nature and nurture.

I love Wales, not just because I was born and brought up there…but because of the people, the culture, the humour, the countryside, the heritage and I suppose the familiarity.
I think it’s similar for people all around the World, my next door neighbor and drinking buddy often stay up late drinking and chatting about his love of Kenya and its culture.
I don’t think it’s a bad thing as long as you harbor no ill will to anyone else or think that your own country is superior.

I would say that most of my friends and family are left of centre and I do think that they are good hearted people as well as the people on here.
The Overton window just went bezerk to me though of what was standard thinking on the left, mainly with as I said…Post Modernism, Deconstructionism and ID politics.

This will be unfortunate and definitely opportunistic.

I’d agree. My father was a big rugby fan and when they played ‘Bread Of Heaven’ at his funeral I found it very moving. Because it represented our shared identity and because he genuinely loved the feeling of being Welsh when he was watching rugby.

Thanks that's a very fair reply and I agree with much. Absolutely lots to admire here in Wales as you say but, for me, the same could be said about so many cultures in the World some of which I prefer to others. So many cultures, so little time.

For me I'm glad the left moved slightly away from merely worshipping the "Working Man" and into tackling a wider gamut of injustice inflicted upon us by the lust for greed, power and status. Whatever, I'm sure we'd agree more than we disagree and I always think your posts are fair, interesting and well constructed and avoid the need for abuse 👍
