I disagree. People should be allowed to express their feelings freely without the fear of losing their jobs over it. If it's a Physics, Chemistry, Geography, IT, PE teacher then their personal opinions do not affect their ability to teach their chosen subjects and employers have absolutely no right to get involved in any way. BUT there is a line, if you are mentally disturbed enough to post a video of yourself (I don't know who was a teacher or who wasn't, have just seen the montage) celebrating someone being shot in the middle of the day sitting at a desk, then you shouldn't be teaching kids.

The other side of the coin is that I think its fine for a company to say 'we don't want to be associated with your very public views' to anyone from the right or the left. I don't think there should be some line drawn between whether someone is a teacher or not a teacher.

People have got to start realising that posting a tiktok video isn't the same as saying something in your own house.

Regardless of the subject matter and the contempt that anyone has about someone reporting an event or action to one's employer, partner, family, professional body or social circle, for my part we should take responsibility of our own action first and foremost if truth is exposed. This principle is not confined to politics to 'yours truly' (whose life was once seriously affected by a mistake I once made and which was subsequently exposed).

It's absolutely pertinent though, and shows that your priorities are not in the best position to put it mildly. If you cannot bring yourself to care about that even remotely, why should I care about what you care about? If you show no sorrow or empathy for child victims of a genocide, but complain about some guy who pretty much encouraged it throughout his life, then there is something noticeably wrong.
