Re: Coronavirus update
I see new cases figures today are down again, 39000!
I heard Evan Davies on PM read the number out and then sy something like "But we don't want to talk about that...." nand the go on about something that was intended to demonstrate how bad things are.
they are bound to go up again but t least the dip gives us a little more head room.

The right of the Labour Party cannot stand to be out of power for a second and undermine the left at every opportunityOriginally posted by Tuerto View PostWe had a real opportunity under Corbyn, He was simply left wing, hardly radical, yet it shows that the establishment and the PLP are having none of it. I'm still a member, although i don't really know why. My wife and daughter have left, although still vote Labour.
If anything, Corbyn was the wrong man to be the leader out of the Socialist Campaign Group, McDonnell for instance would have taken far less shit, though obviously its very unlikely he'd have even gotten on the ballot

Corbyn was a Scandanavian style social democrat, let’s be fair none of the Scandanavian countries scream loopy communist in charge. It’s a fuucking shame and indictment on the UK population they’re influenced by a self interested media, politicians or too selfish to see the truth.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostWe had a real opportunity under Corbyn, He was simply left wing, hardly radical, yet it shows that the establishment and the PLP are having none of it. Re: Coronavirus update
The 16th of July is the most recent "complete" data set for cases by specimen date which shows 53,998. Cases by date reported goes up to 22nd of July which is 39,906.
N.B. Those behind Zoe App suggest Delta has different presenting symptoms to original wave yet PCR test still limited in symptoms that can be used to book a PCR test.
Patients admitted to hospital most recent data is for 18th of July which shows 788 - between 10th and 11th of October in 2020.
Patients in hospital on 21st of July comparable to between 11th and 12th of October 2020.
Patients in mechanical ventilation beds on 21st of July comparable to between 18th and 19th of October 2020.
Anyone with sense is still urging caution and slow release of pandemic habits, and that taking up the vaccine when invited to.
We also desperately need to help wider world by protecting them from Delta where we can and getting vaccines shared around.

Re: Coronavirus update
And new covid cases still falling apparently, although they will probably rise again as the unlock kicks in. But still far lower than predicted. I don't suppose this will please a lot of folks. It won't suit their agendas.
But don't let me intrude on the political love in on this covid thread will you?
No, I thought not.

Re: Coronavirus update
Earlier this week I walked out of the local Richer Sounds in the middle of an £8k purchase of a projector. Some chavs had come in, no masks. Asked discreetly to talk to the manager, explained I was uncomfortable with non-mask wearers in the store. He said he couldn't do much about it. I said, that's a shame, I'll get this projector somewhere else then. It's no wonder the High Street is dying on its arse if they can't accommodate the basic concerns of customers at these times.
