A proper end to it would be good, rather than it just fizzling out.

A two minute clap next Thursday, then all the referees in the country blow their whistles at the same time to signal the end!

That's been my thought process from the start. It's certainly well intentioned and i wouldn't call those who voted for Austerity or who aren't taking social distancing seriously, Hypocrites, i'd just accuse them of being stupid, you can be a bit negligent and still appreciate what people do. A bit like dropping litter but valuing the refuse collectors.

What we do need now is a sustained democratic attack on this government in order to get these people better pay and conditions, not just NHS staff, but the thousands of low paid zero hour care workers who are doing a fantastic job within the community with the sick, elderly and vulnerable. The rainbows and clapping will count for nothing if we allow this government to get away with what they have done over the last ten years or so. It's time for people to get of their arses.

          Agree with that 100%.

Latest figures from Worldometer shows Sweden with 389 deaths per million population, UK with 536. Maybe Sweden got it right and we got it wrong?

I think there are many countries rather than Sweden that would be better candidates for ‘getting it right’.

Fair play to Matt Hancock. When he was trawling the tv studios calling for a police investigation of Neil Ferguson's lockdown indiscretions who would have thought that he was really targeting the guy who was lining him up as the patsy for this debacle!

This is the worst Government in my lifetime. A lying, cheating and lazy PrimeMinister backed up a lying manipulative adviser
Add in the nasty Patel, hopeless Hancock, arrogant Rees-Mogg and a raft of weak ministers and you have in all its glory a shambles of an administration.

I cannot believe so many people can still vote for this lot.

That figure of 389 puts Sweden in eighth place in the deaths per 1 million table on Worldometers. If you were to look at, say, their Scandinavian neighbours, you'd find Denmark in twenty sixth with 97, Finland in thirty fourth with 55 and Norway in forty first with 43 - we are sixth. While accepting that care should be taken when comparing countries, the truth is that all of the information you'll find on Worldometers currently paints us in a bad light and I struggle to see how that is going to change completely in the coming months and years when the figures become more unified.

Incredible really. Just goes to show how weak the opposition was. If there was a half decent opposition from labour or liberal this wouldn’t have happened but both parties somehow fell apart.
The whole political system needs changing in this country, more choice parties and certain policy set in stone voted by the people not manipulated by the next government as soon as they come in. There’s no continuity ever

There has been plenty of talk about allowing Cheltenham and the Liverpool v Athletico games to go ahead, but, although the numbers attending weren't as big, I wonder how much the Sterephonics concerts in Cardiff on 14 and 15 March had to do with making the deaths figures in RCT, Merthyr, Newport and Cardiff so much worse than in much of the UK?
