Who would you want to keep? I'd be upset to see O'Dowda, Davies, Ralls and Robinson go. I'm assuming Goutas might fancy going somewhere closer to home. After that...

I think we need to let the majority go, as we're in the bottom 3 for a reason and we need improvements

I only said three or four in my post this morning, I’ve just posted that I’d try to keep Davies, but it’s not really about what I’d do and I can’t believe the club’s plan is to allow thirteen senior players to leave this summer for nothing.

I don't think the club have a plan! Still, so many out of contract have massive question marks, for example Etete. He's alright, until he has to shoot and he can't hit a barn door with a banjo! Some of them are no brainers, though. Meite, Collins and El Ghazi have contributed so little to us!

Agreed, in the summer of 2022, Burnley offered, what was it, Ł1.5 million for him and we turned it down. Since then, he’s barely played a game for us and scored 12 goals in his season in Belgium, why should we just give him away at the end of this season?

The hardly played a game for us is the problem, and Kanga also scored 12 goals in the Belgian league the same season. I'm ambivalent on signing him assuming he's not on massive wages, but at some point you have to say that a player isn't going to make it due to injuries, especially one that relies on his pace. He's nowhere near a must sign for me, each to their own.

Davies played almost every game for Kortrijk, and was their player of the season. He returns to us and is victim to our hamstring injuries. What is going on?

Davies is quick though, properly, properly quick. He deserves a chance because of that.

I'm pretty sure Ramsey has a 2+1 contract (i.e. an option for an extra year), so will likely stay on. Especially if he's serious about playing for Wales until the 2026 World Cup.

Of the others, I'd keep O'Dowda (who, IMO, should be captain), Isaak Davies, and possibly Alnwick. If we get relegated, maybe Ralls and Etete as well. Robinson is a strange one; he's undoubtedly our best forward but he strikes me as a difficult character and I would wager he's on a fair whack. I think he'll leave regardless.

I do think, though, that we're unlikely to see a lot of people signing new deals when we're in a relegation battle. The club don't know what kind of budget they'll have next year, and the players will want to hedge their bets. If you were O'Dowda, for instance, would you want to commit and potentially play in L1 next year - especially if you know you could probably get a deal with another Championship team?

Having a novice manager in place who is only contracted to the end of the season is unlikely to help that situation.

The position in the league won’t help either.

Agree, both massive stumbling blocks, we are in a very sticky situation.

I really hope that's not true. It would be ridiculous if it was and it was the player's call as opposed to the club's.

There maybe an option for another year but it would depend on who has the authority to trigger it. Generally it is the club but without seeing the contract we don't know
