Interesting rumour on the Danish lad. Was worth around £500k this time last year and based on his record in the Belgian league, he’s not as good as Kanga.

But he has a decent record in Sweden this year so far

Salech apparently hasn't played since the Swedish league finished last November. Not ideal.

There's always some catch that comes with City signings, isn't there... overcoming serious injury, or being inactive because of some dispute with the parent club, etc.

Ahh I stand corrected. Still seems a fair chunk for ‘one for the future’ - when we need one for now.

still haven't heard what his injury actually is
If we're spending £3.2m on another young striker with a similar build, I can speculate Simic has got a very serious case of not being very good.

We paid a similar fee for Daland

of course, if there was a guaranteed 20 goal striker of the right age with no injury problems for a reasonable price then everyone else would be trying to sign them as well

There is more in this WOL piece:

Omer Riza will hope Salech, 22, who scored 11 goals in 27 games in the Swedish top flight last season, can bolster the Bluebirds' forward line in the coming months, with a deal thought to be close to completion.

The striker was signed by Sirius from Brondby last season and hit the ground running in Sweden. "He had a really impressive first half of the season, scoring a lot of goals, he also could have scored even more. He missed a penalty and some chances," says UNT journalist Daniel Meisels, who covers Sirius.

"During the summer he suffered an injury that kept him out for a month, after that he didn't preform as well as before. He apparently played with some pain, too. But a very good first season, you must say. He had some interest around him during the summer, but Sirius decided to keep him."

He may turn out to be a very good signing, but he is obviously a gamble. Not only hasn't played since the Swedish league finished two months ago, but also picked up a bad injury in the summer and his form after was affected.

He was signed by IK Sirius in February 2024 for €600k (£505k) plus a 25% sell on clause on a contract to the end of 2028 - so Sirius are cashing in very early.

I wonder if we've leaked this name to the press as part of our negotiations with Peterborough for RJJ.
if they think we have other targets they cont play as hard ball as if we only have one.

probably not but you never know

That goes on, just a normal negotiating tactic used by everyone.

Both selling teams know we are looking at other options.

I have seen a few impeccable sources (WOL and FLW! :hehe:) claim that we have given up on Ricky-Jade Jones after a first bid (said to be £2m) was turned down.

Norwich, Middlesborough and Sheffield United (again after a summer bid) are all in the frame.

I suspect that Peterborough will be more interested in those club's cash than be bounced by an alleged bid from us of £3.3m for a Danish striker.

But if they are taking notice, they will surely just up the asking price to match what we appear to have available?

3 million doesn’t really get you much these days….probably a 50/50 chance of them even being any good at all. Tan probably thought he pocket the cash from maguiness to cover his losses, still think it’s going to bite him in the arse this year….
