  • Re: Transfer rumours thread

Omer Riza said there was nothing to the Ollie Tanner rumours in his pre game press conference, but said there was a chance of one player leaving on a permanent basis and we were hoping to bring in two or three new players before the window closes.

He also regretted his behaviour on Saturday and said it was out of character, but he also hinted that Franco had said a few things that upset him before the incident.

Firstly, we don't know the real level of interest and, secondly, no-one mentioned about giving him away for nothing. Thirdly, my comment was in response to a previous poster who suggested that he could sell for £5M but that seems extremely fanciful to say the least.

Good let’s hold on to him and our other young assets then.

Player leaving on a permanent - Collins surely.

He is only 22 has been playing in a team that’s been on its uppers and still manages to produce moments of magic rarely seen in City teams over the past 10 years. I’m talking about taking down balls on a sixpence, going at defenders at pace and getting shots away. He also has developed a passable defensive game. People underestimate the fact that when he’s worrying full backs with his pace they are not so likely to be attacking our flanks. He is not the finished article but see age above.
Is he unpopular with some fans because of his Grealish look and not being local?
I’m genuinely excited by some of the young players coming through and look forward to seeing them become closer to the finished article. As well as the ex academy players we’ve got people like Tanner, the 2 Colwills, Robertson (21), Bagan (23) and now Salech (23) exactly what we were missing in the post Warnock era. If we start shipping these players out for pennies I for one might consider that worthy of a protest March.
PS I’m not Mr O Tanner Snr
I’m not going to slag off Tanner as he tries hard and will always love him because of that goal against the Jacks, but I’d be surprised if we got a million for him, never mind 10

If we sold Tanner for under £1m, I'd be incredibly cheesed off

Same, he was playing non league football a couple of seasons ago. Whether he's a world beater or not, he doesn't look out of place in the championship now, who knows what he could be in a couple more seasons.

He played in the 3rd round so I guess he should be
