Re: Rubin. It us what it is. Bellamy clearly doesnt like his profile of player and even though he says he really rates him, he clearly doesnt. Would have more respect for him if he just said that than the nice guy media spin bollocks he comes out with.

Just hope the lad doesnt let it get him down and keeps performing well for City.

This is clearly ‘non football’ related. It’s an absolute joke.

It'd be better for everyone if he just came out and said it because otherwise he looks like a hypocrite and can be accused of playing favourites.

He's asked him to play regularly and consistently, he has done. He wants more intensity, he got it. Just look at how Colwill compares to other players called up in terms of consistency

Rubin Colwill 11 starts (1 sub) 4 goals, 4 assists
Liam Cullen 3 starts (5 sub) 0 goals, 1 assist
Aaron Ramsey 3 starts (3 sub) 1 goal, 0 assists
Nathan Broadhead 3 starts (3 sub) 2 goals, 0 assists

You can make the point that the other 3 play at a higher level, which is fair but Wales have certainly never been above picking League 1 players

Not directly competing with Colwill so a little irrelevant but I'd say Lewis Koumas is pretty lucky to have kept his spot in the seniors, hasn't scored a league goal since December. Again undermining the "consistency" stuff Bellamy spouts

Plenty of time for Wales games. Keep working hard, it will happen eventually, even if it's with the next Manager. It's better for us he's here and not getting injured for Wales, he's played a lot of games and will benefit from working here with BBM.

I dont tend to watch or listen to many press conferences but does Bellamy get questioned as to Rubin's consistent non-inclusion?
If he's not, then he should be as it's becoming an odd situation.

              Re: Wales Squad

All the talk is about Rubin Colwill again (and careful, you can get in trouble for that...).

No mention so far of the fact that Joel Colwill is included. Good for him. I've been very impressed with what I've seen of him so far.

Also, good to see Lawlor and Kpakio selected again, but I guess that was a given.

Tough window this, on the back of losing to Canada. Friendly against Australia, who are ranked above us, as well before our final 2 qualifiers.

Wouldn't shock me if it didn't go down well he turned down his late call up for Kazakhstan and Canada before playing every minute since.

                      Believe that was mutual.

I suspect he will get a call up with drop outs. DJ is supposedly out, though I wouldn't be shocked if Isaak Davies gets a call up there.

Agree with this. Craig Bellamy has been an impressive manager of Wales so far, but his handling of the issue of Rubin Colwill is the least impressive aspect of it up to now. “Feeble” was never an adjective I thought could be applied to Bellamy, but his reasoning for Colwill’s absence for the last squad was completely feeble - be honest and say why you’re not picking him, because, as it stands, it looks very likely that Bellamy’s applying different standards for Rubin than he does with other members of the squad.

If DJ is out long term as rumours seem to suggest then seems stupid we have to go through all this before the inevitable replacement call up. Surely they can do their due diligence in advance if it is a long term one

I think they're governed by UEFA. Clubs were notified last week of this squad, which is why our Barnsley fixture was called off ahead of time. Presumably the DJ injury happened after that initial squad confirmation and/or the scale of injury is still being determined.

I does seem harsh but who is R Colwills direct alternatives and who are J Colwills?

Still he could play in a few positions and would be useul in that squad.
