So stupid to get the two suspensions. James' a ridiculous challenge given the looming suspension and the players behind the ball. Ampadu's as he probably should have been subbed off to not give the ref the chance of a poor yellow.
Surely making sure the players on a yellow should have told sternly not to get booked.
Bellamy should have subbed off Amps...and James is obviously a bit thick.

      This.

Our squad is weak compared to what we have had excluding the Bobby Gould years.
We were very close to snatching a draw in Belgium it just wasn’t to be.

We’ve had it very good so now a barren spell seems inevitable…which is ok, particularly if it means not giving so much airtime to the tripe BBC Wales Sports team.

I think he's got by far the least to work with in a long time in terms of players, but he doesn't help himself picking the likes of Broadhead and Harris when he's got Premiership players like Brooks and Johnson he can pick instead. Maybe he thought he wouldn't need them today but I'm not convinced he doesn't just think he's a tactical genius and knows better.

          Leeds (back up)

          Forest
          Leeds
          Cardiff
          Coventry

          Leeds
          Leeds
          Leicester
          Stoke

          Wrexham
          Oxford

When you look at it like that itÂ’s clear we are miles off what we were. If Leeds get relegated this season there would be one Premier League player in that line up. Bellamy has his flaws but every single manager we would end up with will have flaws due to the nature of the squad and who would take the job on.

The fact people turn their nose up at having to rely on a play off for a World Cup shows how far we have come. But there will plenty of campaigns moving forward where we are out of contention before this point and would be praying for a play off, so letÂ’s enjoy it.

Yesterday was just going through the motions in a game on a dodgy pitch. LetÂ’s see how Tuesday and more importantly the playoffs goes.

Even with this so called weak squad, you could substitute Spurs and Bournemouth for Wrexham and Oxford if you wanted to. So, last night we could have fielded a team with one League One player (who could have been replaced by West Brom's Mepham from the Championship), seven players at Premier League clubs, two at clubs at he top of the Championship and one at an underachieving Championship side that were in the Premier League last season.

Wales' form this autumn has been very poor compared to last season and it's hardly as if it's an old squad in decline - the very important Ben Davies is not the player he was, but, apart from him, there's no one there that you can say iyou would expect a season on season drop in standards because of their age.

Yesterday was a subsrandard showing by a group of players with the collective CVs rhey have, dodgy pitch (it seemed okay to me) or not, they weren't going through the motions, they were playing poorly like they have done all through this season's games.

I agree on yesterdayÂ’s performance being very poor - felt like going through the motions. But I think where we are in the group and potentially finishing third is where weÂ’re at in general at the moment.

Brooks and Johnson in and out for Bournemouth and Tottenham respectively, with the latter yet to put in a good performance for Wales in my opinion. Ben Davies the last of a dying breed but again barely plays for Spurs.

ItÂ’s a patched together squad, itÂ’s safe to say our best days are long behind us and I think we should enjoy being in contention for a World Cup via the play offs as it could be another 20 years until we are again. The good news is things come in cycles and IÂ’m sure our time will come again - but I feel we are miles off at the moment and relying on a very favourable play off draw to get there

If we had a decent squad we’d still be looking for favourable play off draws for World Cup qualification. It’s how it is.

Yes World Cup Mickey Mouse tournament. If it saves us from having to listen to a silly girl then who wants it?

My point is that there was little or no talk about how weak a squad we had a year ago, then we were a promising squad with room for improvement - that’s what you hope for from a predominantly young squad. I mentioned Ben Davies in my previous post, you’ve got Kieffer Moore also at an age where you’d expect a decline in his standards, but he’s probably in the best goal scoring of his career at the moment.

The clear decline in performance compared to 2024 and early 2025 under Craig Bellamy cannot be put down to an aging squad because it’s clearly not one - I would also guess that we have more squad members who are playing Premier League football on a pretty regular basis compared to Bellamy’s first season.

Yet, we see no evidence of improvement in this squad whatsoever this season. The fact that we’re not getting the mass cry offs of the bad old days suggests that morale hasn’t fallen through the floor, but something’s not right with them - it’s not a great Welsh squad, but it should be better than it’s shown this autumn.

No, they'll beat them and end on 18 and if we beat NM we'll be on 16.

Got smashed 1-4 at home by Norway tonight.
                              Not the Italy we know.
