I was going to mention him, but i don't know how influential he was for the National side. Shows my knowledge...

      Probably play Liam Cullen instead...

No I think you're right, I reckon if Bellamy were managing that side they'd be more like the team Speed played than Coleman. There are times under Bellamy we've played some really good stuff, even against tough opposition like Belgium. You'll do well to see a better move than the one for Thomas' goal out in Brussels for instance, there's definitely something there with Bellamy though I fear he's a little naive/rigid at times. We had Dasilva "inverting" into midfield against Liechtenstein on Saturday whilst our wingers were getting doubled up on, get them overlapping! A team sitting as deep as they were want the game to be played in front of them

        Read his brother Mel’s book.
Seemingly John was a big presence in the Welsh team of the time, and not just in stature.
He thinks if John hadn’t been injured for the World Cup qtr final against Brazil in 58, they’d have gone through, as the chances they created in the game, he’d have buried 1 or 2.
A 17yr old Pele scored the winner in that game.

Sorry guys you need to keep Bellamy , other wise he may well go to Celtic and if he gets them playing as well as Wales have been with a fairly mediocre squad Rangers will never catch them... You want to watch Scotland who have a fairly decent squad playing the most turgid football you can imagine.
I would have Bellamy in a flash managing Scotland if he isn't up to your high standards.

Multiple things can be true. You can think it's the weakest Wales squad in 15 years and also Bellamy isn't getting the most out of the squad recently in terms of tactics, team selections and adjustments during the game.

                Re: Bellamy out

Ultimately tonight’s game will go a long way to shaping the narrative on Bellamy’s time in charge of Wales. That’s how big it is for him on a personal level. Finish third behind North Macedonia and there will rightly be criticism. There will be a chance at redemption in March but morale will be low and we will face a tough away game in the semi final and potentially a tough away game in the final and qualification suddenly seems a long way away.

Win tonight though and we have won our Nations League group and finished second behind Belgium in qualifying (whilst never really threatening to win the group), with a kinder semi final home game to come and qualification looking a bit more realistic.

Huge game both for Wales and for Bellamy.

                  Fully agree with this.

Yes, Coleman had a better squad than our current one. But the biggest reason he was successful is because he set the team up in a way to get the most out of our best players.

Bellamy is so inside his own head sometimes with "profiles" and players doing specific jobs. As a result, you get the likes of Josh Sheehan, Liam Cullen, and Mark Harris starting games, while the captain of a top half Premier League team sits on the bench.

In reality, second place in the group would be meeting expectations (although performances have been poor). But Belgium have dropped a lot of points in this group (including to Kazakhstan) and I don't think we'll ever get much of a better opportunity to finish first.

                    Re: Bellamy out

Thought Bellamy's explanation as to why he kep Ampadu on against Liechtenstein at yesterday's press conference was unconvincing and bore nor relevance as to why Jordan James was substituted.

Step forward Harry Wilson. A real Bale like performance tonight. Outstanding!
