Re: LOL at the egg….
Im too young for the Anfield horror but heard the stories.Originally posted by William Treseder View PostIt obviously is. Were you at Anfield that night?
It was like a home game for the Jocks.
Im disputing this meaningless egg match being mentioned as a comparison to a World Cup Qualifier. A crap Wales Team just lose another match , 50k mugs turn up and line the WRUs coffers.
Ticket sales , bar sales im sure the WRU will see today as a success.

Greed. The exact same reason the WFA chose Anfield. We could have played the Jocks at the Racecourse and gave ourselves a bit more of a chance, but the WFA just saw ££££ signs.Originally posted by Hilts View PostIm too young for the Anfield horror but heard the stories.

Re: LOL at the egg….
Yes but their bench had more caps than our entire 15.Originally posted by goats View PostWeren’t most of their first team unavailable too?
Were always going to get pumped today, not sure what was gained from it either, I guess a near sellout would have been good for the bank account and that's about it.
I'm not hugely interested in rugby but I took my dad to the Argentina match and enjoyed it. It's never nice to see our country getting hammered on the world stage and I don't really understand people who glory in it but each to their own. Hope we come good again

Re: LOL at the egg….
Was forced to play rugby in school instead of football which me and all my mates played everyday after school, no play stations or x box back in 1983. We formed our own team despite of our ex rugby playing teacher and parents took us to games. A massive f you to the then sports teachers. I hope the WRU fold completely :thumbup:Originally posted by delmbox View PostYes but their bench had more caps than our entire 15.

Re: LOL at the egg….
Exactly, rugby ‘erberts teachers forcing rugby on you. Have a look at what’s going on the playgrounds, it was football, football, football, they never learntOriginally posted by goats View PostWas forced to play rugby in school instead of football which me and all my mates played everyday after school, no play stations or x box back in 1983. Same for me, no football in my school, although i was quite pleased with that, i played on Saturdays and trained four times a week (Football) so rugby was a nice change, and i enjoyed playing it.Originally posted by splott parker View PostExactly, rugby ‘erberts teachers forcing rugby on you. Re: LOL at the egg….
Same as me, we used to organize our own football games against other schools because the teachers had no interest in it, I don't hate an entire sport because of it. And if you want the organization running one of if not our most popular sports to fold because you had to play it instead of a different one 52 years ago then may I suggest chilling out a bit. I've heard of uptight before but that's ridiculous :hehe:Originally posted by goats View PostWas forced to play rugby in school instead of football which me and all my mates played everyday after school, no play stations or x box back in 1983. Same here, they used to confiscate footballs! I left school in 1975!Originally posted by goats View PostWas forced to play rugby in school instead of football which me and all my mates played everyday after school, no play stations or x box back in 1983. Re: LOL at the egg….
Reading some of the posts on this thread, it sounds like a lot of you went to prison rather than school.
You do realise you had voices back in the day? If you just sat back and accepted it, then you have nobody to blame but yourselves.
In my school, a large proportion of pupils, along with lots of parents, demanded football was on the curriculum.
This attitude of many on this board that “ my PE teacher made us play rugby, so I’m gonna grow up hating the oval ball game” sounds both comical and pathetic.
You should have stood up for yourselves when you had the chance.
