    Re: Transfer Embargo?

    Club statement.

#CardiffCity are aware of reports this morning and wishes to clarify the situation. The Club has no financial concerns. All necessary paperwork will be submitted in the coming days, this issue will be resolved and any embargo will be removed. We wish to stress that this will https://t.co/sfphC8RAEs

      Re: Transfer Embargo?

23 other clubs managed to submit their accounts on time.

Maybe Biancheri was all speculation. Or maybe this is why he didn't sign.

Yet again the club has appeared to have fecked up.

Glen Williams doesn't help himself with those calling him a puppet with not stating why this isnt the clubs fault.

And no explanation on why unlike the rest of the league we were late. They've been forced into this statement. Absolutely pathetic.

If a player they're targeting signs for another club whilst we're under the embargo, then it would've affected our recruitment policy. What a daft comment to make.

                Oops

We wish to stress that this will not impact our January recruitment strategy.

They can only put what they’re told. Let’s see if the embargo is lifted early next week as they say it will be before rushing to judgments.

Im quite confident it will be. But come on how can they say it doesn't affect plans.? Players can be available at any time during the window.

They deserve to be hammered over this.

                        In my opinion.🙂

And, in my opinion, we were never going to sign anyone early in the window - if a player really wants to come here, he’ll be prepared to wait a few days for the embargo to be lifted and, if it’s not lifted, he’ll be relieved to have had a narrow escape.

I am no fan of the trust but that is a bit harsh. It explains that the problem was with the auditor who failed to sign off the accounts. Glen Williams' would seem to indicate the same by saying the problem was out of the clubs hands.

The test will be in 7 days. If the transfer embargo is lifted then this is just a storm in a tea cup

If this is not a new rule (and I don't think it is as I believe CCFC has previously been under an embargo at this time of year for the exact same thing), then the club would have been well aware of it, having been in the Championship for decades.

I can't believe the club's staff are so incompetent that they didn't realise this applied after relegation to League One. My suspicion is it involves a bit of creative accounting, so to speak.
It appears to have nothing to do with the club staff. The auditor who has to sign off the accounts somehow failed to do so. The auditor would not work for CCFC as they need to be independent of the club.

I disagree. When the staff at the club can't complete basic sdmin on time, like every other club does, there is a problem.
