Yes, saw that and the highlights cut off soon after the goal. Here's the Sheffield Wednesday report on the game (and red card incident), just in case you think I've gone doolally tap.

Kingdon just won player of the season at u-21 level and is captain, I'd say he's significantly ahead of Debono for now in the club's reckoning but I feel he's gone backwards, if anything, from what I've seen. His passing, long and short, has become very erratic and Debono has been at least his equal but I'm only going off a limited sample size so I'm happy to trust the club's judgement for now.

A 4-0 loss for the u-18s at Wigan today. Not sure what side they had out but it's a poor result, even allowing for Wigan being top of the Northern section in that league.

Kingdon is a very mature and very good young player. But, I don't see that he has either the height or the athleticism required to play at a high level. Both Debono and Parfitt have both these qualities in spades. Whether they have the mentality remains to be seen, but I'd have thought that Debono should be the next player to be introduced into the 1st team (he was our best player in the one match in the Cup). Although it would appear that BBM doesn't rate height as an important quality in any position. He'd play Tyrion Lannister in goal if he had a nice touch.

In November, Wales u-17s just missed out on a chance to qualify for this year's Euros. Instead, they dropped into a B group which, as far as I can make out, could help them move back to the A level when qualifying for the u-19 Euros in 2028 begins.

Anyway, it's a group of four teams. Georgia, Andorra and San Marino. I'm no expert on international football at any level but that doesn't strike me as a group of death. However, we've so far managed to draw 0-0 with Andorra and lost 1-0 to San Marino today. A few of our lads are out there but I guess they're wishing they weren't.

Yeah, losing to San Marino is embarrassing.

I wasn't aware of those appalling results until you mentioned them. While I can accept that, especially at age group level, there can be one off games where things like complacency and lack of preparation can lead to surprising results, there can be no excuse for losing to San Marino after the jolt drawing with Andorra should have given them.

I like Chris Gunter and am pleased to see him being used by Wales after he was such a great servant for his country, but questions have to be asked by the FAW about this when the squad get home.

We play Hull at home on Monday while Watford and Charlton play each other so a win could take us through. Not sure we deserve it really. Loads of players missing, of course, but it's been a struggle for a while now.

Highlights of the under 21s game at Colchester now on the club website - looks like both teams had a player sent off, but, unless he was abusive to the ref, I’ve not got a clue why the City player was dismissed.the player concerned was Jake Davies who may or may not have been sent off in the previous match at Sheffield Wednesday!

It was bizarre. I assume he was booked for diving and it was his second yellow but it didn't look like a dive, although it wasn't the best angle of it. It wasn't theatrical and there was no appeal after, looked like he just got shoulder barged by the centre half. Davies seemed completely baffled too.

Jac Thomas's goal last night here, it's Merthyr's third. Not exactly Sky coverage and the weather was shocking but you can just about make it out. Nice finish.

⚽ Take a look at the goals from the victory over @MarineAFC on Tuesday evening, as Jacob Maddox and Jac Thomas got their first goals for the Martyrs, on a very wet and windy night in Liverpool. #OurTownOurClub | #WeAreMerthyr https://t.co/YUFw7LgMeV

Thanks. Lively afternoon there. It doesn't say who was sent off from our bench but I couldn't see Purse at the end so I assume it was him. It wasn't Cody Twose who was red carded but it confirms the ref saw a dive.

Good to see Axel Donczew and Paul Moreno getting another game at that level. I wonder how they've dodged the Wales u-17s horror show in San Marino while Tankiewicz is out there?

Seems to me that when under 18 and under 21 sides are announced on Twitter they appear in number order and Davies was the tenth in the team list. Whoever it was, the video only shows 9ne card being displayed - it was hard to see what colour it was, but the ref did point to the dressing room, so I assumed it was red. I don’t think it was a dive and it didn’t merit a yellow, let alone a red, card

A more respectable result for the Wales u-17s today (although having only got one point and failing to score in the previous two games against Andorra and San Marino, the only way was up) as they drew 2-2 with Georgia. City lads Jacob Norris and Leo Papirnyk with the goals.

Still finished bottom of the group by two points though. A weirdly scheduled, and pretty meaningless, tournament with some of the better players left at home but even so.

Mannie Barton has scored a penalty to put City’s under 18s ahead against Crewe in a 1 o clock kick off as they chase a top two finish and a Play Off place.
