Excellent second half there. I turned up at half time, which doubled the crowd, and the players seemed to respond. Really committed performance from everyone, including Darren Purse. His booming voice was echoing around the stadium for the whole 45 minutes.

With Rob Tankiewicz and Harry Watts in central midfield it's always going to be a good watch, enterprising for us but a bit easier for the opponents to get through when we lose possession. End to end, 1-0 didn't do it justice.

Saying that, we just about deserved the clean sheet for all the blocks and tackles we put in. Some tired legs out there by the end, poor Jake Davies tried to join one more counter-attack near the end but suddenly turned into Ricky Lambert.

Another good performance from Alyas Debono. He's already relegated Gabriel Keita to the bench for most of the season, now he's doing the same to Caden Voice. He seems to be making good progress.
Apart from the 1st team regulars, Debono is one of the few U21's to have enhanced his reputation this season. Certainly from the group that were promoted from last year's U18's.

As usual the U21; signings (free transfers from other clubs) appeared to be mainly pointless. Agent pleasers that only serve to block the development of our own.

Despite the development of those 1st team regulars and the very young Cup teams, that BBM chose, I'm not sure I could forecast one U21 who is likely to make the 1st squad next season. I'm particularly surprised by Cody Twose. There could be quite a 'cull' at the end of the season. It would suggest that once BBM settled on his squad at the end of August is was going to be difficult to work your way into it from the U21's.

From the U18's I would suggest Mannie Barton, Noah Williams and maybe Parfitt because of his left foot and size/athleticism.

Rob Tankiewicz feels like the obvious one who has enhanced his reputation & is rated by BBM?

I'm biased, because my dad met Debono when he was working as a careers adviser in school, and he's by all accounts a lovely kid. But I'd love to see him get chances in the first team once promotion is guaranteed.

Yes, agreed and of course Donczew. But they ae U18's and U16's respectively, I was talking specifically the U21's

He's been really good this season. But maybe too tall for a BBM centre half ;-). Our team is like the Time Bandits, I never feel anticipation/excitement when we win corner. Don't get me on Trott.

Had to read that twice before I realised your dad, not Debono, was the careers advisor.

The goals from the u-18s' 6-4 win at Watford on Saturday here, some quality ones too (I had to go back to check they hadn't shown the same Moreno goal twice).

They're doing well for now. Five points clear in second place, the top two make the end of season play offs with the top two from the Northern section. Jack Sykes is the top scorer in the league with 15 goals.

Says he was born in the states.

The article suggests he brings championship experience, not sure on that but may be wrong. Good luck.

1-1 draw for the u-21s at Swansea, Jake Davies with the goal.

A 1-1 draw for the under-18s too, at home to South division leaders Charlton today. Paul Moreno with our goal which was 'stunning' apparently, but we'll be the judge of that.

Decent result, Rob Tankiewicz and Jack Sykes (and Mannie Barton) played for the u-21s yesterday so we were slightly under strength. Six points clear of third place now so are looking good for the end of season play-offs.

The under-18s' draw with Charlton. Paul
Moreno's free kick getting us level, great save from the Charlton keeper to deny Harry Watts a winner

The under-21s' draw at Swansea. I'm guessing Josh Beecher's excellent pass for Jake Davies to equalise was his first touch, he'd only just come on.
