Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
City a bit unlucky to be 1-0 down at half time to a fine long range goal by Hull. I thought we were second best while it was 0-0, but we’ve responded well to going behind and have played some nice stuff - Tankiewicz is playing as well as I’ve seen him at this level.

Him and Donczew are linking up nicely.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostCity a bit unlucky to be 1-0 down at half time to a fine long range goal by Hull. City somehow 2-0 down despite completely dominating the second half. the Hull keeper’s having a stormer, but there comes a time when you’ve got to question the quality of our finishing - the keeper should not have been given a chance to make some of his fine saves.

They lost 3-1, Axel Donczew with our goal.Originally posted by Undercoverinwurzelland View Post
The u-18s won 6-2 though. That puts them third in the table, level on points with Brentford but with a game in hand. Millwall are fourth, also on the same points and also with a game in hand. The top two qualify for the play offs so our game at Millwall in midweek could be decisive, only one regular season game left after that.

I see that there was a 'Harrington' in the line-up. Any relation to the legendry Alan, city stalwart in the 50's and 60's?Originally posted by Loramski View PostThey lost 3-1, Axel Donczew with our goal.

Despite having the 1st choice centre backs away with the Wales U15's and the probably the centre forward there were still 9 Welsh schoolboy internationals in the starting line up and one on the bench. There are 9 City lads in the Wales U15 squad.

I found a league table and put a link yo it under my blog piece on the Northampton game. It wasn’t dated, so it may not have been the current table, but it looks like we’re guaranteed second if we win our last two matches.Originally posted by Loramski View PostThey lost 3-1, Axel Donczew with our goal.

A change from the normal view for under 18 highlights for the 6-2 win over Huddersfield on Saturday on the club website.
Big game for the under 18s this morning as they travel to Millwall for a game between two of the three contenders to finish second thereby clinching a place in the Play Offs, kick off is at 11.00.

It did. We ended up fifth with Millwall second but three points there would've put us second with Millwall fifth. We were inconsistent in the run-in, we should've finished comfortably in a play-off position but let it slip away.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostThe under 18s win their final game of the regular season 2-0 at Sheffield United which might mean they can still make it into the Play Offs, but I fear the midweek loss at Millwall left them with too much to do.

Thanks, did you watch the video of the Millwall match on the club website? Understandably, City do as much as they can to “big up” City’s contribution to age group games in their highlights packages, so, you often end up with things that hardly justify the word highlight being included and so I have to be honest and admit that if what they showed represented our best attacking play, we wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing now.Originally posted by Loramski View PostIt did. At the other end of the pitch, although the penalty which led to Millwall’s second goal looked a bit soft, it was similar to yesterday’s first team game in that the opposing forwards (especially Millwall’s number nine) had too much pace for our defence which was playing with a high line, so Millwall got plenty of one on ones with our keeper - based on what is being shown on our own website, 2-0 definitely flattered us.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...
With the team we had out too. I'm not sure what went wrong in the past few weeks. Some lads were getting moved up to the u-21s and the international call-ups led to some disruption too but it was quite a drop-off. Results aren't the be all and end all at that level but it was a disappointing end to the season.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostThanks, did you watch the video of the Millwall match on the club website?
