There is no doubt that it is windy out there this morning and I don't live on the coast but it is nowhere near as windy here as they forecast yesterday and certainly it was much windier in the night about a week ago when my roof slates were rattling, when they had forecast a moderate breeze. For the last week their mission appears to have been to frighten the living daylights out of the general population on the basis that there would be no comeback on them whatever happened. If you watched Derek Brockway yesterday evening on BBC Wales, then the look on his face and words indicated that we were all doomed.
Today's been really windy in Cardiff, with strong gusts. Actually lost a roof tile as well. But it wasn't anything that you wouldn't expect in Autumn or Spring, at least a few times a year. The perception however can be influenced no end by the 'drama' of the media over the past few days. No doubt they'll show footage of waves crashing over various coastal towns, yet this happens scores of times each year. Closing schools though, that's just too easy. No thought for parents working, getting grandparents to step in at short notice. I honestly can't remember ever having a school day cancelled.

Wind must be doing its job pretty well if it's blowing over trees.

Fence damaged and 2 year old fence post broken. Learned my lesson from the hurricane in 1987 when I lived in London and when fence panels were unavailable for months after i.e. just popped out to get a replacement post-haste.

        Post-haste :hehe:

I see the House of Sport dome in Leckwith has collapsed. Probably happens a few times every year, though.

Just got in from work, wasn't too bad at all today, I’ve certainly worked in worse conditions. Missus was on to me not to go in......I made the correct decision

I'd be in a right pickle.

No problem Bob, is that your real name by the way?

I wanted to point out holding a grudge is unhealthy, I've done that now. Thanks.
