No need to speculate, you can read more about it here!

Full details outlined in the next council meeting apparently, so you will all have to bookmark Kent Councils webcasts for that

Thanks for the heads up. I won't be able to sleep waiting for Kent County Council's detailed DOGE plan! It's so exciting! :hehe:

This piece puts some of it in context - and at the same time casually takes down Mumford and Sons - so two good reasons to read it!

The Reform leader is trying to import Doge’s cuts to spending and ‘DEI’. It’s clear what he gets out of it – not so much the British voter, says author Samuel Earle

Re: New Party on the Left

Dianne Abbott kicked out again now. It's like the hokey cokey.

I have to say, it's not hard to see the point she is trying to make, but it's very clumsily made and it seems highly unlikely it was an accident to repeat them. She knows what she is doing there.

I doubt it. The Jackie Wheeler performance at Handforth Parish Council was funny - if unintentionally funny.

I expect the Kent County Council DOGE cuts event will have a lot fewer laughs!

Unlike the last few years of rising council tax and falling services which have been an absolute barrel of laughs for all involved!

Re: New Party on the Left

Corbyn and Sultana finally got their act together (or more likely, Corbyn finally got his act together) and announced a new party.

                          Temporarily called 'Your Party'.

It may crash and burn like most of the previous left parties in recent decades, but this time the state of Labour and the breakdown of traditional voting patterns (along with the rise of populism and the impact of social media) it may be different.

                          The pitch is this:

It’s time for a new kind of political party. One that belongs to you.

                          The system is rigged.

The system is rigged when 4.5 million children live in poverty in the sixth richest country in the world. The system is rigged when giant corporations make a fortune from rising bills. The system is rigged when this government says there is no money for the poor, but billions for war.

We cannot accept these injustices – and neither should you.

We will only fix the crises in our society with a mass redistribution of wealth and power. That means taxing the very richest in our society. That means an NHS free of privatisation and bringing energy, water, rail and mail into public ownership. That means investing in a massive council-house building programme. That means standing up to fossil fuel giants putting their profits before our planet.

Meanwhile, millions of people are horrified by the government’s shameful complicity in genocide. We believe in the radical idea that all human life has equal value. That is why we defend the right to protest for Palestine. That is why we demand an end to all arms sales to Israel. And that is why we will carry on campaigning for the only path to peace: a free and independent Palestine.

Our movement is made up of people of all faiths and none. The great dividers want you to think that the problems in our society are caused by migrants or refugees. They’re not. They are caused by an economic system that protects the interests of corporations and billionaires. It is ordinary people who create the wealth – and it is ordinary people who have the power to put it back where it belongs.

It’s time for a new kind of political party. One that is rooted in our communities, trade unions and social movements. One that builds power in all regions and nations. One that belongs to you.

Sign up at www.yourparty.uk to be part of the founding process, leading to an inaugural conference. At this conference, you will decide the party’s direction, the model of leadership and the policies that are needed to transform society. That is how we can build a democratic movement that take on the rich and powerful - and win.

                          Real change is coming.

Jeremy Corbyn MP Zarah Sultana MP

It’s time to build a new kind of political party - one that belongs to you.

Former Labour MPs condemn ‘rigged’ system and promise ‘a mass redistribution of wealth and power’

Ex-Labour leader said it was ‘time for a new kind of political party’ to take on Starmer – but Labour grandee warns it will only help Tories and Reform

The former Labour leader joins forces with fellow Independent MP Zarah Sultana to launch "a new kind of political party".

18% of Britons say they are open to considering voting for a left-wing party led by Jeremy Corbyn at a future election

                              That's Farage as PM then

                              Cheque signed by Corbyn

If he had waited for Starmer to fold it wouldn't have mattered
