"Yes" - therefore it was not me. Either way, it was not me however desperately you are trying to claim it was.

Of course, the correct and clear way to ask would have been "Was it you?".

Yrasp of the English language appears to be slipping. There is nothing grammatically wrong with "Was it not you?" and the answer to that question should be "Yes it was" or "No it wasn't" You said yes, which infers it was. If you don't accept that please go and check.

However the question was with regard to you claiming I had said that you said that Chamberlain's statement was "Universally acclaimed". I have asked you to show me the thread where I said that but you keep changing the subject. If I said it show me. If you don't I suppose we can safely assume I didn't say it.
