You had your casuals from Cardiff , then you had your Valley Boys , who eventually integrated, then you had our Docks Crew and Brownhills , then you had the rest of the fanbase

Plenty of away games I went to we did our own thing, and arranged our own transport, totally disconnected from the rest of the away supporters.

For sure, there were inter city rivalries, loads of them…south or north of coryton etc but if we had to get together we did. All the valley towns used to battle it out back then too. As much as the Docks lot liked going it alone there were plenty of times they tagged along with everyone else

Maybe what Goats means (and he can correct me if i'm wrong)is that we weren't happy clappers back then as as a unit we would criticise the club, which was probably for the best part. As a fanbase we are so docile these days, myself included. We never used to be like that, and those who were critical weren't shouted down as much as they are today. Maybe some revisionism on my part there.

Yeah this but I’m sure I’m looking back with rose tinted glasses, sure NP was quiet most of the time as you could count the away fans most weeks so not much atmosphere but if we had crowds of 5/6000 there would be. As for fan rivalry it was massive for some area like Ely v fairwater, docks v Ely, llanrumney v docks or llanishen. But when “needed” we all came together. We never really had these types of issues we have now, not on this scale anyway, we just had clemo and someone would put his windows through every now and again. :xmashehe:

Totally unsure about this. I just assume that if Tan sells before any judgement is made he may not be able to claim anything as it's Cardiff City v Nantes.

Tan won’t get anything from Nantes, they haven’t got any cash, pay him with magic beans are they?

I think this will be his biggest issue, and disappointment. There's more chance of Nantes going into administration than paying Tan off; and it could take years to reach a resolution. Saving face or not, realistically Tan is facing irredeemable financial losses and a wretched legacy. Unless a white knight arrives on his charger soon, Cardiff City will be left in the wilderness.

Indeed , did you frequent brownhills , that was mainly our watering hall , as was congregating outside Olympus Sports on Saturday mornings.

I think 'from dubious sources'. WBA were bought for £64m earlier this year and than included their debts. If you were Tan would you sell up for less than £100m, considering what he's put into the club ? He's not going to get it while the club's heading for league 1, and probably believed the hype about us being a 'top 6' club..

Sometimes in business you have to cut your losses ( how much was put into Everton by the last owners compared to what they sold for ?)
Relegation could possibly be the straw. The chances of getting a return on his investment would become ever smaller.

I doubt anyone other than maybe Steve Borley know Tans thoughts on the club, selling , Nantes etc.. ,

I also doubt the toxic atmosphere at Oxford will concern him if he even hears about it. If it carries on though .......

There has been a lot of dissatisfaction on here, when it spreads to the terraces its a different volume level all together.

Exactly. Weren’t too many moaning when the Championship trophy was being paraded around the field. The turning point was when we started losing regularly after being relegated.

Absolutely , if Cardiff had remained in the premier league in red , this would be a totally different message board with a totally different clientele.
And if we get relegated again , could be catalyst for another seismic change...

I thought the £15m transfer fee that City had to pay was put into a trust, that Nantes couldn't touch, until the outcome of the trial.

And yet he's allowed his football team to become something of a humiliation for him. It's hard to see how he can save face as far as City is concerned, even an attempt to buy our way to promotion would see us breaking FFP regulations I would have thought.
