What an absolutely ridiculous post. Why not try listening to people who are in fear of being attacked for a chance instead of shape shifting the world to suit how you want it.

We all know whats happening in Gaza is part of the rise in antisemitic attacks (but doesn't justify them) but that doesn't mean when two people are stabbed it's appropriate to instantly turn your anger to a British politician standing with the attacked community before any other comments. It was gross and again, if someone had done that about Corbyn (for example) you absolutely would understand how inappropriate it was so don't pretend you don't get it. You do

Story is nothing to do with Reform Jordi. Its about two Jewish guys randomly stabbed in the street yesterday. You dont need to make everything party political

Strange that the story does not seem to be about the third person stabbed (a Muslim) at all. I'll put another people caught committing anti Semitic crimes in the UK, should have the book thrown at them just to repeat what I've said in at least one previous message in this thread, but the double standards shown by so many working in politics and the media in this case because it doesn't quite suit the line they're pusuing in this instance has been mind boggling.

I don't think anyone knows the full intricacies of the case, but it's about intent isn't it. Every victim is a tragedy in itself, and has characteristics - male, Buddhist, French, whatever, but they become "political stories" if the victim is attacked because of those characteristics.

The perpetrator - it seems - as is so often the case has a history of violence and mental illness and as you say another person was stabbed that morning in Southwark. I gather they were known to eachother, but could be wrong. Irrespective, he then travelled from Southwark to Golders Green and sought out people who were visibly Jewish, and that would seem to be the difference here.

I don't think anyone knows the full intricacies of the case, but it's about intent isn't it. Every victim is a tragedy in itself, and has characteristics - male, Buddhist, French, whatever, but they become "political stories" if the victim is attacked because of those characteristics.

Maybe, as he had a history of mental illness, he randomly travelled to Golders Green and as there happens to be a disproportionate number of Jews in a local area (often dressed in conspicuous garb) then he lashed out indiscriminately and happened to injure two Jewish people.

I wonder if the story would have received such sensationalist political reactions had the offender travelled to Chinatown and went on a rampage there.

What sticks in my craw is this dreadful Government's posturing while the elephant in the room suggests their despicable support for Israeli genocide has contributed hugely to the current rise in anti-Semitism.

I agree with Dorcus - the politician making a complete fool of herself here is a Tory, but she could easily have been a member of the Cabinet given what Starmer has had to say on the subject.

This poor woman was clearly out of her depth and not really qualified to take part in such a discussion. She was illogical, partial and talked gibberish. It's hardly any wonder the Tories are polling so poorly when this is all they can offer up for a prime time interview, albeit against a very talented interviewer.

However, further to your Starmer point and another example of how obsessive and out of touch the man is becoming, I read to say he will be forcing universities to publish audits of instances of anti-Semitism on their campuses. No mention of instances of Islamaphobia, LGBTQ, Ageist, Sexist, or any other form of discriminatory hate! Absolutely unbelievable!

The man is stirring up more trouble for himself and pursuing a narrow course. There is enough hate of all sorts in this country without specifically sponsoring one's own pet project.

There are about 300,000 Jews in this country and over 10 times more Muslims. He has already alienated the overwhelming majority of the Muslim base who would otherwise have probably voted Labour if not for his Government's craven support for Israeli genocide and wanton disregard for Palestinian life.

He is not fit to lead: he and his Cabinet are an utter disgrace and I am ashamed to say I have voted Labour in the past. What has this country come to?
