Yeah rightio….ive been on here 25 watching him have spats with various posters, never get involved ever. Personal you say? So far I’m a racist, a Tory despite only voting for them once in my life, a bad decorator and landlord (no issues ever in 25 years, many in fact become friends) lol….not to mention being a parent and his latest effort is marriage. its laughable. This board is in fact a shadow of what it once was….this non football one surely one of the worst I’ve ever seen for loons no wonder it’s dying, bit like the club itself…..

After trying to defend the indefensible I see Starmer et al have announced they will no longer accept gifts of clothing. Such a shame that they accepted these "gifts" which has tarnished the new government at a stroke and fuels the suspicion that all MPs are at it. Why don't they ever learn?

I agree that people expect better of Labour (I do definitely) but Starmer used to go out of the way to emphasise that difference during the four and more years before the last election - Labour can’t get away with saying vote for us again, we’re not quite as bad as the Tories.

Worse rob from the pensioners to give to the Public sector voters, unions and Westminster bellends.

Your response is sadly what I would have anticipated. I disagree. I watched Question Time on Thursday. The Liberal MP Tim Farron was on the panel and he said he would never accept gifts because he knew that he would not be able to face one of his constituents should they confront him in the street about it. No, they are not all the same.

Arrogance, hypocrisy, a sense of exceptionalism.....

I agree with you that not all MPs are the same (and the cultures in different parties are a bit different although all will have at least some on the take), but I was not surprised at all that Starmer put himself in this position. I haven't seem much evidence of principle with him in the past 6-7 years.

Sludge is big enough to stick up for himself so I don't really want to get into a big thing about this but the way you refer to his personal life (or what you perceive it as) just stands out to me amongst the general disagreements and cartoonish name calling on here, that's all
