I think there has to be principles

If she was a strong trade unionist then she immediately loses any sense of that .....in it together..... mantra if she's going to take advantage of a scheme that gives her taxpayers money to buy a council house at a hugely reduced rate ....which she should , if a socialist , be giving back to those less fortunate ......like her initially ......once she has no need for a council house

But she buys the house ......so many never get that chance ......and then goes onto make profit after it's sale

And then has the cheek to complain about housing policy in the UK .......which she has openly benefited from ......at the expense of others

Any 'donation' and especially all these 'freebie' designer clothes, personal shoppers and 'free lunches' by lobbyists are bribes, pure and simple. It should be illegal to accept anything when voted into public office especially as a PM or cabinet minister. And don't get me started on writing for foreign-owned press as well as hosting political 'shows' on TV and radio.

It's a no-brainer. It's corruption.

Personally I don't like the puffing out of his chest and being the big 'tough guy' at conference. He can't carry it off. He just looks and sounds like a twat. The most disenfranchised in society are disabled and older people. Disabled older people but still outside of pensionable age will be treated like scum by the DWP and his 'tough on benefit fraud' bollox.

If you think the PO scandal was bad, just wait until banks and the DWP are using private tech companies to snoop and spy on personal accounts in order to use an algorithm to uncover benefit fraud. The DWP can't even prevent billions of £s worth of administrative error in their own department.

How is he going to protect vulnerable people? It's all very well saying he will do it. How? They don't know. They are lying. Just like the last lot. We'll be left to die having 'worked' all our lives. Some of us have never and will never officially retire.

As the person who started this thread, I think Starmer has been a right hypocrite with the things he’s accepted for free, but I don’t see much wrong with this if the flat was not being lived in at the time.

After 14 years of corruption and degradation, the previous shower are only too willing to jump on anything. Starmer and co need to be careful but they have a long way to go to stoop to the Tories’ level.
