Driving the highest tax payers out of the country might make you feel better but it isn't the best outcome for the country is it?
The main problem is that the political class dare not explain to people who earn at or below the median wage that they aren't really paying any tax and that their problems are caused by 30-40 years of terrible housing + other (privatising of needs, not wants) policy.

Almost every problem for your average worker is caused by massively inflated living costs not tax and the main one (housing) has been cheered on by governments, all of media + a lot of the population for years and years as a sign of success. Thankfully (lol) we have basically reached a point where, despite 10 years of government intervention to the contrary (policies designed to pump the market), the housing market couldn't actually sustain further real terms increases. But that has left us at a point where young people are staring down the barrel of never being able to afford a secure place to live, nefarious ppl will tell you 'migration is the problem' and 'young people are leaving' and tie those two things together even though the evidence doesn't back it up.

The electorate aren't deplorable, they are delusional though. For instance, telling people that 'the rise in energy bills was caused by increased green levies' still works, even though a 2 minute search will show you the complete opposite.

Rubbish the huge wealth gap is the biggest issue in this country.

There needs to be huge taxes on the super wealthy.

150 plus billionaires I believe. But boo hoo they will leave the country. Its a con. They have assets in this country. Tax them very very high. They can afford it.

Easier to blame immigrants and the minimum wage.

And Reform need to be called out for what they are.

Too much of this you cant call us racist anymore crap.

Anyway enough of the nutty forum lets get 3 points🤣👍

Yes these billionaires aren't being driven out of the country, they choose to leave themselves just because 1 billion isn't enough. Greed knows no bounds

Exactly. And we have planks crying saying they will leave.

They own buildings properties and have loads of wealth in the country. Feckin off to Monaco or Dubai shouldn't exempt them.

Of course they are ex pats protecting their wealth through greed. Not the immigrants Reform despise.

I do not disagree with the obscene wealth gap who would? but we are where we are, these people are not going to just say, OK fair cop I'll pay x 100 out of the goodness of my heart, The top 1% of tax payers paid 28.2% of all UK income tax 2024-2025, providing an environment for these to leave isn't helping the situation and will probably lead to many John & Jane Doe's into debt, negative equity etc. etc. The UK has been traditionally a nation of entrepreneurs providing employment for those who do not work in the public sector, a solution needs to be found, envy of greed isn't a solution, the super rich will always be super rich, if in this country or another country i'd rather them be super rich in the UK with some of their wealth trickling down rather than their wealth trickling down in another country. Just a bad day at the office today, we couldn't cope with their big guys in the box and some poor options taken, fine margins, if NG's shot had gone in to make it 3-3 maybe a different outcome.

Again, it's not envy of greed; it's a question of fairness and justice. There's no reason to believe the super rich will always be the super rich; that defeatist attitude is exactly what allows them to get away with it.

I think shaming these greedy b******s for ditching the country would be the best course of action and promoting all the good things about the UK to defiantly challenge others to take the place of the deserters.

By the way it's been proven many many times that trickle down wealth is a fantasy. It just doesn't happen, the wealth gets sludged up at the top like a sclerotic artery.

                  FFS the envy word again.!!!!

Ideally they pay extremely high tax. If not they leave with no UK assets at all. ( which they wont so tax them)

                              Your missing the point.

They shouldn't be allowed to leave and avoid tax.

Extreme wealth in this country is driving up house prices etc.

But no your party supports tax reductions for the wealthy in private education while they piss off to Dubai where they are ex pats and not immigrants of course.
